In the paper the results of experimental studies on the effect of the reological properties of the liquid on pressure drop for the air-water and air-polymer solutions flow in the spray column equipped with conical and profiled confusors, have been presented. It has been shown that in polymer solutions the drag coefficient is greater than that in water. The reduction of pressure drop in a column with a confusor of profiled internal surfaces has been observed.

The paper contains the results of experimental studies on mass transfer process in a spray column. It has been shown that the process efficiency depends very strong on the liquid volume flow rate. The effects of the gas flow rate and primary concentration were relatively small.
