Kolizje z udziałem zwierząt są problemem, z którym zmagają się wszystkie kraje Europy i świata. W Polsce brakuje wypracowanych metod zbierania i analizowania danych oraz przeciwdziałania tego typu kolizjom. Powoduje to, podmioty odpowiedzialne za ewidencje zdarzeń drogowych z udziałem zwierząt w kraju nie są w stanie określić dokładnej skali problemu, oraz wprowadzić odpowiednich metod zapobiegania zdarzeniom tego typu. W artykule tym opisano wyniki badań ankietowych skierowanych do kierowców województwa podkarpackiego, mających odpowiedzieć na pytanie jak przedstawia się skala problemu zdarzeń drogowych ze zwierzętami w województwie. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań opisujące zależności pomiędzy poszczególnymi cechami kierowców w odniesieniu do zjawiska kolizji drogowych ze zwierzętami. Dodatkowo przedstawiono zależności pomiędzy: gatunkami zwierząt a porą dnia i roku oraz rodzaju drogi w województwie podkarpackim, na którym występuje największa ilość kolizji.

Collisions involving wild animals are a problem that is addressed in all the countries of in the world. In Poland there is no proven methods of collecting, analyzing data, and prevention of this type of collision, causing that individual regions of the country are not able to determine the exact scale of the problem, and use the appropriate methods to prevent this type of road incidents. This article describes the results of a survey aimed at drivers Podkarpackie province, aiming to answer the question as shown in the scale of the problem of automobile collisions with animals in the region. The article also presents the results of research describing the appropriate relationships between: the characteristics of drivers in relation to the number of collisions with animals, animal species and the time of day or year and type of road in the Podkarpackie province where there is the greatest number of collisions.

The intelligent systems supporting the driver start to play a decisive role in avoiding vehicle collisions in dynamically changing road conditions. Systems cover the following fields: prevention, passengers safety, support and information. In that case we are dealing with an integrated safety system, which is much broader then an individual car or personal skills of a driver. The implementation into a common usage of sophisticated safety systems is aimed at early warning, monitoring the situation on the road, mutual interaction and functionality of the systems in changing road conditions. The huge technological investments of car producers result in safety improvement and avoidance of majority of car collisions. The most recent safety active systems, which are broader described in the article, include the systems, which use IR cameras, such as: Driver Alert System - DAC (Driver Alert Control) and LDW (Lane Departure Warning) as well as City Safety System.
