Purpose: The aim of the publication is to diagnose the level and to assess the possibility of using managerial dashboards created in an Excel spreadsheet to supervise management processes in enterprises. Design/methodology/approach: The research developed the method of a directed interview with the staff at various management levels. The supervision of technological processes, economic analysis, and the provision of broadly understood services for citizens have been the subject of the research. Findings: Managers show little interest in improving their employees' analytical skills. Training in this area is not planned and the impact of analytical capabilities of the tools available for the functioning of the company are not appreciated. Research limitations/implications: The results of the research are not representative, but they encourage the authors to carry out a broader and more in-depth analysis of the existing situation in enterprises. Practical implications: The research shows the need to rationalize human resources management. This process requires an increased supervision over employee development planning with the use of the appropriate training. This may have a significant impact on efficient management and, consequently, on the company's financial results. Originality/value: The article is to be an element stimulating the management to more thoughtful activities in the field of selection, training, and use of personnel at various levels of management in the company.

The goal of the paper is to present the application of Business Intelligence systems belonging to the area of business analytics in the domain of logistics and particularly indicate its role and meaning in supporting logistics decision making processes. Its content embraces the characteristic of BI systems, its functionality, construction and benefits resulting from its implementation. The paper also presents review of research and case studies connected to the BI usage in such areas of logistics as optimization of supply chain, managerial dashboard design and improvement of business processes.

The authors of this article have identified and characterized key performance indicators of database servers with a particular focus on Microsoft SQL Server. Practical part of this article concerns to the construction of dashboards on mobile devices to monitor performance of database server Microsoft SQL Server developed using Microsoft Mobile Report Publisher. Methodology of dashboard development has been described and evaluated.

Authors have outlined e-marketing role in modern organization, defined performance dashboard and key performance indicators in e-marketing context. In practical part of this article Google Analytics dashboards have been characterized and case study of its usage in e-marketing campaign have been presented.

Nowadays, knowledge management in organization is a big challenge and an important task for managers at all levels. The effectiveness and efficiency in a decision-making process - to a high extent - depends on the availability of reliable and comprehensive knowledge. There are many IT tools that were created to meet an organization’s needs related to the access to the best quality of knowledge. This publication concerns the theme of knowledge management in organization and the tools supporting this sphere. The authors focus on the characterization of the management dashboard within the architecture of the Business Intelligence system. Moreover, the implementation process of dashboards within the Business Intelligence system is defined and presented.

Zarządzanie wiedzą w organizacji obecnie stanowi duże wyzwanie i ważne zadanie dla menedżerów wszystkich szczebli. Skuteczność i efektywność w procesie podejmowania decyzji są w dużej mierze uzależnione od dostępności wiarygodnej i pełnej wiedzy. Istnieje wiele narzędzi informatycznych, które powstały w celu zaspokojenia potrzeb organizacji dotyczących dostępu do jak najlepszej jakościowo wiedzy. Niniejszy artykuł podejmuje tematykę zarządzania wiedzą w organizacji i narzędzi wspierających ten obszar. Autorzy skupili się na scharakteryzowaniu kokpitu menedżerskiego w ramach architektury systemu Business Intelligence. Ponadto, zdefiniowanoi przedstawiono proces wdrażania kokpitu menedżerskiego w ramach systemu Business Intelligence.

Celem artykułu jest zaproponowanie autorskiej klasyfikacji narzędzi teleinformatycznych wspomagających zarządzanie wiedzą w organizacji i dokładne scharakteryzowanie kokpitu menedżerskiego jako jednego z takich narzędzi. Po wprowadzeniu teoretycznym omówiono zarządzanie wiedzą w organizacji. Następnie opierając się na studium literatury, podjęto próbę usystematyzowania narzędzi, które to zarządzanie wspierają. W konkluzji zaznaczono, że kokpit menedżerski stanowi jedno z narzędzi wspierających zarządzanie wiedzą i proces podejmowania decyzji.

The article presents subject of performance dashboard, which is used often in organizations in order to knowledge management because of their user-friendly form. The first chapter is an introduction to further theoretical considerations and it is dedicated knowledge management in the organization. Then authors presents their attempt to classify software tools using in knowledge management. The last chapter is a binder earlier considerations, indicating dashboard as a tool for data visualization in the organization which support managers in the decision making process and knowledge management.

W niniejszym artykule poruszono zagadnienie wdrażania kokpitu menedżerskiego w organizacji. Przedstawiono teoretyczne aspekty wdrażania systemów informatycznych, uwzględniając rolę wyboru właściwej strategii wdrażania, a także wskazano bariery wdrażania i scharakteryzowano czynniki implikujące skuteczne wdrożenie systemu. Następnie opisano systemy Business Intelligence oraz scharakteryzowano fazy ich wdrażania. Autorzy zdefiniowali kokpit menedżerski i scharakteryzowali proces wdrażania kokpitu menedżerskiego.

This paper considers the problem of management dashboard implementation. Firstly theoretical aspects of implementation of information systems including role of implementation strategy choice have been described. Lately, barriers of implementation and indications of the effective system implementation have been indicated. Next, Business Intelligence systems have been described and its phases of implementation. Authors defined management dashboard and characterized process of its implementation.
