A photocode in Polish is a common name for a two-dimensional code, which is characterized by higher information capacity than a traditional barcode. The paper analyses the use of the two-dimensional coding system - DataMatrix to identify and classify the material stream in the production process. The analysis showed the effectiveness of the implementation of the coding system in the context of increased availability, machine use and increased product quality. The improvement in the production process is confirmed by an increase in the OEE index. As part of further improvement measures, the coding system should be implemented throughout the enterprise, its compatibility with existing systems should be ensured and applied to all products.

W artykule omówiono rozbudowę prototypowego systemu optycznej transmisji danych przy użyciu sekwencji dwuwymiarowych kodów kreskowych. System składa się z mikroprocesorowego nadajnika, który za pomocą matrycy diod LED wyświetla zbiór dwuwymiarowych kodów kreskowych w zmodyfikowanym standardzie DataMatrix. Odbiornikiem jest aplikacja zainstalowana na telefonie komórkowym użytkownika, która po prawidłowej detekcji położenia matrycy w scenie rejestrowanej przez kamerę, odczytuje fragment przekazywanej informacji. Po odebraniu wszystkich fragmentów informacji następuje jej synteza do postaci dźwiękowej i odczyt przez lektora.

The article describes the tests, debugging and upgrading of a system for optical data transmission using sequences of two-dimensional barcodes. The developed system consists of a transmitter equipped with a LED matrix to display sequences of two-dimensional barcodes in a modified DataMatrix format and an application installed on a mobile phone as a receiver. After receiving and decoding the information stored in a barcode, the message is read to the user using a text-to-speech module.

W pracy przedstawiono krótką charakterystykę dwuwymiarowych kodów DataMatrix oraz propozycje zastosowania ich do znakowania produktów, narzędzi, towarów wykorzystywanych w produkcji rolniczej. Symbole DataMatrix posiadają dużą pojemność informacyjną pozwalające na zakodowanie w nich pełniejszej informacji o oznakowanym produkcie czy przedmiocie.

The paper presents a short overview of the two-dimensional DataMatrix codes, together with suggestions for their implementation in the marking of products, tools, and other goods used in farming. The DataMatrix code symbols are characterized by high data capacity allowing for encoding a wider range of information concerning the marked object or product.
