The processes of globalisation, the ongoing threat of the COVID-19 epidemic, the continuing war in Ukraine, and constantly emerging new technological solutions require organisations to adapt to changes constantly. Meanwhile, implemented business process management (BPM) often fails to integrate processes and knowledge resources. The awareness of the IT systems’ role in management processes is still lacking. These premises influenced the implementation of the main research goal to identify the approach of Polish private and public enterprises and various industries to the BPM integration with knowledge management (MK) in the context of using new information technologies. The presented research results justify the usefulness of building relationships between the process and knowledge resources under dynamically changing conditions using IT systems. The diagnostic survey results confirmed the key importance of developing such BPM and MK elements as evidencebased decisions, strategic goals, measurement systems, databases, digital innovations, and IT use for data processing. The presented material can support managers of various organisation types in decision-making processes by fully understanding the IT systems’ role and potential in process and knowledge management. Also, the article’s implications are a source of guidelines, helping organisations to implement management systems based on modern technologies. The value of the publication is a wide range of respondents: 107 large, medium, small, and micro-enterprises operating in Poland. The article’s research results also concern economic activities such as production, logistics, transport, banking, insurance, IT, telecommunications/ media, public administration, healthcare/pharmaceuticals, consulting, energy, and construction.

The paper addresses a managerial problem related to ensuring cybersecurity of information and knowledge resources in production enterprises interested in the implementation of INDUSTRY 4.0 technologies. The material presented shows the results of experimental research of a qualitative nature, using two expert inventive methods: brain-netting and a fuzzy formula of inference. The experts' competences included the following three variants of the industrial application of the INDUSTRY 4.0 concept: (1) high production volumes achieved using a dedicated and fully robotic production line (2) the manufacture of short, personalized series of products through universal production cells, and (3) the manufacture of specialized unit products for individual customers. The Google Forms software was used to collect these expert opinions. The conclusions of the research carried out using the brain-netting method point to nine variants of the cybersecurity strategy of IT networks and knowledge base resources in manufacturing enterprises represented by the experts. The results of the research using the fuzzy formula of inference are numerically and situationally defined relations linking the above-mentioned nine strategies with five types of cyber-attacks. The summary record of these relations as the basis for managerial cybersecurity recommendations has a matrix form.

Celem artykułu jest analiza uwarunkowań determinujących transfer wiedzy w przedsiębiorstwie. Za główne czynniki determinujące transfer wiedzy w organizacji uznano cechy charakterystyczne wiedzy, lokujące ją pośród najważniejszych zasobów przedsiębiorstwa, rodzaj wiedzy oraz rodzaj kanału transferu wiedzy, koszty pozyskania i zagospodarowania wiedzy, a także klimat organizacyjny. Artykuł ma charakter studium teoretyczno-poznawczego. Badania oparte zostały na metodzie systematic review – systematycznego przeglądu literatury, na podstawie której sporządzono syntezę podejmowanego problemu badawczego.

The purpose of the paper is to present the conditions that determine knowledge transfer in a company. The main factors determining knowledge transfer in an organization are thought to be the characteristic features of knowledge that place it among the most important corporate resources, type of knowledge and type of knowledge transfer, cost of knowledge acquisition and management, and also organizational climate. The paper is of a character of theoretical and cognitive study. The research is based on a method of systematic review – literature was used to conduct the synthesis of the undertaken research problem.

The key role in process management is played by the systematic analysis, measurement and improvement of processes. The imperative of continuous introduction of changes in processes is the answer to the changing conditions of competition and the great dynamics in the expectations and preferences of customers. Information related to business process should be collected and formalized in order to improve the execution of processes. In connection with the above, it may be stated that the improvement of processes should be supported by the concept of knowledge management in the institutional sense where we refer to the structure of communication and information which enables the interaction between members of the organization. The purpose of the study is to present relations between process management and the concept of knowledge management, with particular attention being paid to the improvement of processes seen through the prism of knowledge resources. The execution of the objective formulated above made use of such research methods as research on the literature on the subject related to process management and knowledge management as well as the findings from the author’s own surveys conducted in 2015 among medium and lower management personnel in organizations improving processes.

W zarządzaniu procesowym kluczową rolę odgrywa systematyczna analiza, pomiar i doskonalenie procesów. Imperatyw ciągłego wprowadzania zmian w procesach jest odpowiedzią na zmieniające się warunki konkurencji i dużą dynamikę oczekiwań i preferencji klientów. Informacje związane z procesami biznesowymi powinny być gromadzone i formalizowane, aby poprawiać wykonywanie procesów. W związku z powyższym stwierdzić można, że doskonalenie procesów powinno być wspierane przez koncepcję zarządzania wiedzą w sensie instytucjonalnym, gdzie mamy na myśli strukturę komunikacji i informacji, która umożliwia interakcję między członkami organizacji. Celem opracowania jest przedstawienie relacji pomiędzy zarządzaniem procesowym, a koncepcją zarządzania wiedzą, w szczególności zwracając uwagę na doskonalenie procesów widziane przez pryzmat zasobów wiedzy. Do realizacji wyżej sformułowanego celu wykorzystano takie metody badawcze, jak studia literatury przedmiotu z zakresu zarządzania procesowego i zarządzania wiedzą oraz wyniki własnych badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych w roku 2015 wśród kadry menedżerskiej średniego i niższego szczebla zarządzania w organizacjach doskonalących procesy.

The article presents problems related to processing of knowledge in he course of design process, and the methods for dealing with them by the designers while making decisions, with particular attention being paid to the conceptual phase of designing tools in case of customised production. Chapter 1 includes a short introduction and familiarisation with the discussed issue. Chapter 2 briefly outlines the specific features of the company and products that are manufactured. The theoretical scheme of the design process at the conceptual stage typical for the given company is also presented in the article. In chapter 3 theoretical analysis has been supported by examples of real-life design problems resolved in the past. In chapter 4 the authors present their proposals and orientations of their future activities, so as to improve the quality of the knowledge processing in the course of design process.
