Recently in coal mines, which belong to Jastrzębie Coal Company, deterioration in thermal condition of work has been noticed. Due to the fact that conventional methods like ways on ventilation or appropriately selected systems of cutting exploitation were not able to provide proper climatic conditions, the most endangered coal mines ("Pniówek", "Borynia", "Jas-Mos", and "Zofiówka") were forced to introduce methods based on available local cooling equipment and also the system of group or central air conditioning. The first system of central air conditioning in Poland was set in motion in "Pniówek" coal mine in the year 2000. It is based on association of power and heating steering with cooling steering. The system of group air conditioning in underground excavations was started in May 2004 in "Zofiówka" coal mine. Refirgerating equipment is built in at the level of 900m and evaporative water chillers as the level of 705 m. All devices are connected by means of pipelines through the shaft I. In the year 2005 and 2006 the system of group air conditioning in "Borynia" and "Jas-Mos" coal mines will be started. This report deals with the solution of already existing air conditioning systems in "Pniówek" and "Zofiówka" coal mines and also describes conceptions of air conditioning solution for "Borynia" and "Jas-Mos" coal mines.

W artykule podano uzasadnienie stosowania w kopalniach miedzi temperatury zastępczej klimatu jako kryterium oceny warunków klimatycznych. Na podstawie wyników wariantowych prognoz klimatycznych dla standardowego oddziału wydobywczego prze: analizowano wpływ lokalizacji urządzeń chłodniczych na temperaturę powietrza w oddziale. Zaproponowano kierunki poprawy warunków klimatycznych w gorących oddziałach wydobywczych kopalń miedzi.

Using of the equivalent climate temperature in copper mines is justified in the paper. Basing on the results of variant climatic forecasts for a standart wining district influence of the cooling arrangement location on the temperature in the district has benn analysed. Directions of improvement of climatic conditions in hot wining districts are proposed.
