W artykule przedstawiono metodę określenia tonacji utworu wykorzystującą sygnaturę muzyczną. Sygnatura muzyczna jest graficzną formą reprezentacji treści utworu muzycznego. Jej postać odzwierciedla liczność, bądź czas trwania poszczególnych dźwięków. W celu potwierdzenia skuteczności opracowanego algorytmu opracowano oprogramowanie i bazę różnorodnych utworów. Pozwoliło to na wykonanie szeregu eksperymentów, które przedstawiono w artykule. Opracowany algorytm porównano z algorytmem Krumhansl-Kesslera.

The paper presents the key-finding method based on music signature. A music signature is a graphic form of representation of musical content, which gives information about number of notes or duration of notes. To confirm the algorithm effectiveness it was necessary to create an application for analysis and collect a database of different music tracks. The enabled the performance of experiments, presented in this paper. The developed algorithm was compared with the Krumhansl-Kessler algorithm.

W artykule przedstawiono pomysł reprezentacji treści utworu muzycznego w postaci sygnatury utworu. Sygnatura utworu jest zbiorem leżących na płaszczyźnie wektorów. Każdy wektor skojarzony jest z jednym z dwunastu dźwięków skali chromatycznej. Kierunek wektorów określany jest zgodnie z układem dźwięków podstawowych tonacji durowych w kole kwintowym, a ich długość odzwierciedla częstość występowania poszczególnych dźwięków w utworze muzycznym lub jego fragmencie. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki eksperymentów, w których potwierdzono korelację kształtu sygnatury z charakterem aranżacji kolęd. Brano pod uwagę opracowania tradycyjne oraz jazzujące.

The paper presents the idea of classification of the content of a piece of music based on its signature. The signature is a set of vectors located in the polar coordinate system. Each such vector is associated with one of the tones of the chromatic scale. Their directions are determined by the positions of individual tones comprising the circle of fifths. The lengths of these vectors reflect the number of occurrences of a particular note in a given piece of music or its fragment. Experimental results confirmed that the shape of signature is correlated with the character of the music arrangement. For the purposes of this paper the classical and jazz arrangements have been evaluated.
