The adiabatic expansion of gas through a small orifice (nozzle) into a vacuum is today the most common method of producing neutral gaseous clusters. In the present investigation, the generation of ammonia clusters from the mixture of gases is studied by using a electron impact ion source and
a double focusing sector field mass spectrometer. Results of measurements of the generation of (NH3)nH(+) clusters ions versus the percentage abudance of ammonia in the mixtures NH3/Ar or NH3/He at several stagnation pressure are described.

The adiabatic gas expansion method is the most commonly used technique to produce neutral gaseous clusters. In this technique a gas expands from a high-pressure gas chamber through a nozzle into a vacuum. The amount of condensation is determined by the structure and energetic properties of
molecules, the gas stagnation pressure and its temperature, the diameter and shape of the expansion nozzle. In this work, the production of gaseous clusters is studied by using an electron impact ion source and a double focusing sector field mass spectrometer.
