Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie wyników badań wpisujących się w cykl trzech artykułów zaprezentowanych w obecnym numerze „Logistyki”, zrealizowanych przez autora w latach 2011-2013. Przeprowadzone badania wpisują się w całościowe badanie ewaluacyjne struktur klastrowych. Są analizą o charakterze przyczynowo-skutkowym, której przeprowadzenie pozwoliło na jakościową ocenę wybranych zagadnień. Obecny (trzeci) etap badań oparty został o materiały empiryczne pochodzące ze źródeł pierwotnych, uzyskane za pomocą kwestionariuszy ankiet. Ankiety skierowane zostały do uczestników klastrów funkcjonujących w regionie łódzkim oraz trzech regionach ościennych Polski centralnej (województwa: wielkopolskie, kieleckie i opolskie). Tym samym podniesiona została reprezentatywność badań. Jest to studium przypadku, pozwalające na uogólnienie wniosków i odniesienie ich również do innych regionów kraju. Uzyskane wyniki pozwalają określić najważniejsze uwarunkowania i bariery rozwoju struktur klastrowych.

The purpose of this article is to present results of the studies which belong to the three-article series presented in the current issue of “Logistyka” and have been carried out by the author in 2011-2013. That research fits into a comprehensive evaluation study of cluster structures. The tests are characterized as a cause-and-effect analysis and have resulted in a qualitative evaluation of selected issues. The present (third) stage of studies has been based on empirical materials derived from primary sources that were obtained by means of questionnaires. The surveys were addressed to the participants of clusters which operate in the region of Lodz and to three neighboring regions of the central Poland (voivodships: wielkopolskie, kieleckie and opolskie). That way the representativeness of the study was raised. This is a case study which enables to generalize conclusions and to refer them also to other regions of the country. The results allow to identify the most important determinants and barriers to development of cluster structures.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie koncepcji klastra w logistyce humanitarnej. W artykule zaprezentowano definicje klasycznego klastra gospodarczego oraz klastra logistycznego. Artykuł opisuje również pojęcia związane z logistyką humanitarną oraz działania mające na celu wdrożenie koncepcji klastra w sferze globalnej pomocy humanitarnej.

The goal of the article is to introduce the concept of cluster in humanitarian logistics. The article presents classic definition of economic cluster as well as logistics cluster. Additionally, the paper describes humanitarian logistics and actions that can be taken to use the concept of clusters in global humanitarian aid.

Koncepcja klastrów pojawiła się jako kluczowa idea poprawy konkurencyjności i rozwoju gospodarczego. Charakteryzują się one bardzo różnym poziomem innowacyjności i zaawansowania technologicznego. Jednakże zjawisko klastra nie jest jeszcze dostatecznie rozpoznane. Istnieje poważna luka wiedzy co do skutków i efektów płynących z funkcjonowania klastrów. Badania empiryczne na bazie których napisano cykl trzech artykułów prezentowanych w obecnym numerze „Logistyki” realizowane były przez autora w latach 2011-2013 i obejmowały bardzo szerokie spektrum funkcjonowania struktur klastrowych. Podzielone one zostały na cztery etapy. Niniejszy artykuł zawiera wyłącznie prezentację etapu pierwszego. Cele analizy zakładają dokonanie identyfikacji branżowej i poziomu ich koncentracji w gospodarce regionu łódzkiego. Stanowi to podstawę wnioskowania pod kątem możliwości powstania w tym regionie potencjalnych klastrów. Autor wskazuje konkretną lokalizację przyszłych klastrów i określa pożądane kierunki wspierania ich rozwoju. Region łódzki został w badaniach potraktowany jako studium przypadku, jednakże szereg wniosków z badań może zostać z powodzeniem odniesionych również do innych regionów kraju. Zaprezentowany materiał jest krótką syntezą obszernych wniosków i rekomendacji wynikających z przeprowadzonych badań ewaluacyjnych.

The conception of clusters has occurred as a key idea of improving competitiveness and economic development. They are very diverse in their level of innovative character and technological advancement. However, the phenomenon of the cluster has not been sufficiently identified yet. There is a serious gap of knowledge about the impacts and effects arising from their operation. A series of three articles presented in the current issue of “Logistyka” is based on empirical studies which were carried out over the period 2011-2013. They covered a very broad spectrum of functioning of cluster structures and were divided into three stages. This article contains only a presentation of the first stage. The objectives of the analysis cover assessment of industrial identification and level of concentration of clusters in the region of Lodz economy. It provides the basis of reasoning in terms of possibilities that potential clusters appear in that region. The author indicates a specific location of future clusters and defines desirable directions of supporting their development. The region of Lodz has been treated there as a case study, however, a number of conclusions drawn from the research can be successfully attributed to other regions of the country. The presented material is a short synthesis of the comprehensive conclusions and recommendations which are the result of evaluation studies.
