In the paper a laboratory test-stand for validation of steady and dynamic states of modular switched reluctance motor with outer rotor and co-axial flux in the stator (TFM) is presented. The basis for the construction of the laboratory setup is a DS1104 R&D Controller Board with CP1104 Connector Panel. The mathematical model for dynamic analysis of TFM was built in Matlab/Simulink environment. The model has a hierarchic structure with its fundamental part being a single phase-belt of the motor. The experimental validation was divided into two parts. In the first step, the mathematical model of TFM's under steady-state operation was examined. In the second step, the validation of results obtained from circuit models that regarded dynamic operation was performed. The results of simulations, confirmed by the experimental validation presented in this work, allow to determine and to improve the most important characteristic of TFM in both dynamic and steady conditions.
