W artykule opisano wybrane wydarzenia historyczne i obiekty architektoniczne pochodzące z początków dziejów Ostrowa Tumskiego w Poznaniu. Autorka-przewodniczka zabiera czytelnika-turystę na spacer po tej historycznej części miasta, podczas którego mamy możliwość cofnąć się w czasie i poznać fakty oraz ciekawostki wiążące się z powstawaniem miasta i kształtowaniem państwa polskiego. Pierwszym przystankiem jest miejsce pierwotnie zajmowane przez palatium Mieszka I, gdzie obecnie znajdują się kościół Najświętszej Marii Panny i Psałteria. Kolejnym punktem wycieczki jest poznańska katedra. Poznajemy jej historię, liczne przebudowy i zwiedzamy jej wnętrze. Udajemy się do podziemi, aby zobaczyć relikty katedr przedromańskiej i romańskiej, a także pozostałości misy chrzcielnej oraz nagrobków pierwszych władców Polski. Następnie zwiedzamy wnętrze współczesnej regotycyzowanej katedry, zaczynając od prezbiterium, przez wybrane kaplice i kończąc na Złotej Kaplicy. Po opuszczeniu budynku katedry autorka zachęca do samodzielnego zwiedzenia Ostrowa Tumskiego i odkrycia magii tego miejsca.

The article describes selected historical events and architectural structures from the early history of Ostrów Tumski (cathedral island) in Poznań. The author-guide takes the reader-tourist for a walk on the island, where the reader can travel back in time to learn about historical facts and curiosities related to the time when the place was the cradle of the emerging city and the Polish state. The first stop is the location originally occupied by the palace and chapel complex from the times of Mieszko I, and which is now where we can see St Mary’s Church and the Psalm Singers’ House. The next point of the tour is the Cathedral, with its history, numerous remodellings and a visit to the interior. The reader is taken to the crypt where the relics of the oldest cathedral buildings are located, and also sees the tombs of Poland’s first rulers and the remains of a baptismal font. After coming back to the main nave, the reader can experience the present-day, regothicised cathedral and visit the chancel and some of the chapels with their original furnishings, including the Golden Chapel. At the end of the walk, the author encourages everyone to explore Poznań’s cathedral island on their own and discover its magic.

W pracy podjęto próbę charakterystyki zjawiska, jakim jest obecność niewielkich obiektów sacrum na terenie dawnych rezydencji ziemiańskich w powiecie łęczyńskim położonym w centrum województwa lubelskiego. Istotny jest nie tylko mistyczny, ale również historyczny aspekt ich występowania. Kaplice i kościoły były manifestacją religijności ziemian. Na terenie czterech zabytkowych założeń dworskich powiatu łęczyńskiego: w Zawieprzycach, Łańcuchowie, Jaszczowie i Łysołajach, znajdują się: kościół, dwie kaplice, dwie kolumny toskańskie i trzy przydrożne kapliczki. Przedstawione w pracy obiekty kultu religijnego pochodzą z różnych okresów historycznych i pozostają w różnym stanie zachowania.

This paper attempts characteristics of the phenomenon of the presence of small : sacrum objects in the former residence of landowners in the district Łęczna in the center of Lublin province. It is important not only mystical, but also the historical aspect of their occurrence. Chapels and churches were the manifestation of religiosity landowners. In four historic post manor complex in the county Łęczna - in Zawieprzyce, Łańcuchów, Jaszczów and Łysołaje - there are: the church, two chapels, two Tuscan columns and three roadside shrines. The work places of worship come from different historical periods and are in various states of preservation.
