Redefinition of triad’s inconsistency and its impact on the consistency measurement of pairwise comparison matrix

There is a theory which meets a prescription of the efficient and effective multicriteria decision making support system called the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). It seems to be the most widely used approach in the world today, as well as the most validated methodology for decision making. The consistency measurement of human judgments appears to be the crucial problem in this concept. This research paper redefines the idea of the triad’s consistency within the pairwise comparison matrix (PCM) and proposes a few seminal indices for PCM consistency measurement. The quality of new propositions is then studied with application of computer simulations coded and run in Wolfram Mathematica 9.0.

Życie codzienne mieszkańców miast, miasteczek i wsi budzi niesłabnące zainteresowanie nie tylko środowisk naukowych, ale także szeroko rozumianych społeczności lokalnych. Siedemnastowieczny Zamość, jako ważne centrum handlowe i naukowe wielokulturowej i wielowyznaniowej Rzeczypospolitej stanowi także interesujący przedmiot badań w różnych aspektach związanych z życiem codziennym. Zagadnienie to podejmowało już w swoich opracowaniach wielu badaczy, jednakże ciągle jeszcze dalekie jest ono od wyczerpania. Podejmując próbę odtworzenia fragmentów barwnego życia codziennego mieszkańców Zamościa w tym okresie autor koncentruje się na wybranych aspektach, takich jak uroczystości cechowe czy udział w uroczystościach religijnych. Analizuje także codzienne swary i kłótnie, próby ich łagodzenia, drobne i poważne przestępstwa, wyroki sądowe i sposoby wymierzania kar. Ważnym elementem życia codziennego są także plotki, wskazujące na sposób rozpowszechniania się informacji kształtujących opinie społeczne. W życiu codziennym szczególne miejsce zajmuje rozrywka, towarzysząca mieszkańcom na różnych etapach aktywności zawodowej i społecznej, jako stały element zamykający wszystkie sprawy. Artykuł oparty jest na pamiętniku zamojskiego mieszczanina i profesora Akademii Zamojskiej Bazylego Rudomicza z lat 1656-1672, oraz innym materiałach źródłowych.

The everyday life of residents of the big and small towns and villages is still in the centre of the permanent interests not only of scientific circles but also of local communities understood in the broadest sense. Being an important trade and academic centre of the Polish Republic of several cultures and confessions, the 17th-century town of Zamość is also an interesting subject of researches of various aspects of everyday life. In spite of the existence of many early elaborations, the problem in question still needs to be studied. Undertaking an attempt of making a reconstruction of fragments of the baroque Zamość ’residents’ colourful everyday life, the author concentrates particularly on such aspects as ceremonies of the guilds or residents’ participation in religious ceremonies. He also analyzes daily squabbles and quarrels, attemps of their mitigations, minor and serious offenses, court judgments as well as ways of punishments. Since rumours indicating how information shaping a public opinion is spread, they seem to be an important element of everyday life too. A special place is also reserved for an entertainment; for it not only accompanies residents at different stages of their professional and social activities but also brings all of their affairs to an end. The article is based on a diary written in 1656-72 by Bazyli Rudomicz, a Zamość townsman and Professor of the Zamość Academy, and on other sources.

The goal of our proposition is work out the conception coming to satisfy given requires to consistent level in condition of interval parameters in Saaty's matrix. These requires refer to speed of convergence and scale of value or variance of corrective judgments too. At last we made a simple comparison between proposed variants of modification in reference to parameter of level of consistent (inconsistent), number of iteration, variance of corrective increments.

An Architecture for Making Judgments Using Computing With Words

Our thesis is that computing with words needs to account for the uncertainties associated with the meanings of words, and that these uncertainties require using type-2 fuzzy sets. Doing this leads to a proposed architecture for making judgments by means of computing with words, i.e., to a perceptual computer - the Per-C. The Per-C includes an encoder, a type-2 rule-based fuzzy logic system, and a decoder. It lets all human-computer interactions be performed using words. In this paper, a quantitative language is established for the Per-C, and many open issues about the perceptual computer are described.
