A characterization of weakly J(n)-rings

A ring R is called a J(n)-ring if there exists a natural number n ≥ 1 such that for each element r ∈ R the equality r (n+1) = r holds and a weakly J(n)-ring if there exists a natural number n ≥ 1 such that for each element r ∈ R the equalities r (n+1) = r or r(n+1) = -r hold. We completely describe both classes of these rings R for any n, thus considerably extending some well-known results in the subject, especially that of V. Perić in Publ. Inst. Math. Beograd (1983) as well as, in particular, the classical description of Boolean rings when n = 1.

In the article it has been demonstrated using generally known examples that independently of the processes taking place in tribounits, in the course of their operation on their own (without external influence) there occur phenomena reducing the friction and wear rate. This testifies to structural adaptivity of tribounits, which can be fully attributed to the thermodynamic systems subject to the principles of non-equilibrium thermodynamics.

W naszych rozważaniach zatrzymamy się nad miarami długości, masy, objętości i czasu, używanymi w Biblii. Pierwszym punktem opracowania będzie historycznie usytuowane „wzmiankowanie” o wspomnianych miarach, zakończone tabelką jednostek poszczególnych miar, używanych w Syrii, Palestynie, Grecji i Rzymie. W części drugiej zaprezentujemy wersety zawierające poszczególne miary. Choć główną metodą zastosowaną w tym artykule jest prezentacja wybranych wersetów biblijnych, to za czynnik twórczy może być w nim uznany wybór odpowiednich haseł, a jeszcze bardziej selekcjonowanie wersetów w ramach poszczególnych haseł, aby zachować zgodność tematyczną z zakresem metrologii.

In our considerations, we will focus on units of measures (length, mass, volume, time) as used in the Bible. The first point of the study will be a historically located “mentioning” of the aforesaid measures, ended with a table with units of measures used in Syria, Palestine, Greece and Rome. In the second part, we will present verses containing particular measures. Although the presentation of selected biblical verses is the main method applied in this article, nevertheless the choice of appropriate entries done herein can be regarded as a creative factor, this being even more true for the selection of verses within particular entries so that topical consistence with the scope of metrology be maintained.
