In Poland there are six types of inspection bodies responsible for the supervision of the food safety. In our country there are totally 1099 such bodies on various levels of management. In order to ensure the protection of human health and life, the inspection bodies mentioned above should be property organized. To obtain the goal these bodies more and more often decide on the implementation of the quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 17020, ISO 17025). In this artide it is the analysis of the state of the quality management systems implementation in Poland is presented. Since the implementation as well as the coordination of the system mentioned above is both time and money consuming the article also presents the opportunities of integrating the systems. The author also describes other management conceptions that are possible to be implemented in the food inspection bodies in order to improve the quality of the duties realized by them.
