Purpose: The aim of the study is to find out whether and to extent the change of selected parameters of the system, such as the type of tires, tire pressure and axle load, changes the result of the technical test of the analysed vehicle in the field of measuring braking forces. Design/methodology/approach: Diagnostic tests, tire pressure measurements, axle load measurements, braking force measurements on a roller device were carried out. Findings: The relationships between the pressure in the tires and the braking force measured on the wheel as well as between the braking force and the load acting on the vehicle axle have been demonstrated. Research limitations/implications: Mathematical relationships between tire pressure and vehicle braking force can be derived in the future. Practical implications: In the course of the tests, it was found that the technical tests made it possible to determine the braking forces only while maintaining the nominal ±1×105 Pa tire pressure. Changes to this parameter may influence the measurement results. Moreover, the influence of tire pressure on the change of the measured braking force values was found, which translates into the safety of the vehicle in road traffic. Originality/value: approach to brake system.

Purpose: The aim of the work is to present selected research results of the first stage of work, the so-called pre-design research related to the implementation of electric vehicles into the company's fleet. Design/methodology/approach: the article presents inconsistencies and problems related to the use of electric buses as well as problems related to point infrastructure. The results of the research were obtained from the observations of the analyzed transport processes, the process of fleet management, from interviews with employees, as well as from the analysis of documentation and comparison of records with the actual state. Findings: The results confirm that the effective elimination of nonconformities leads to the improvement of the process quality and the reduction of costs related to vehicle breakdowns. Research limitations/implications: The research indicates the need for continuous improvement of the process of using electric vehicles. Validation studies have confirmed that it is impossible to eliminate all problems, therefore the process should be constantly improved. Originality/value. The article indicates the need to amend the subsequent projects and the current methodology of the procedure.

Transport ładunków nienormatywnych nie należy do najłatwiejszych, jeśli chodzi o jego przygotowanie, organizację oraz wykonanie. Wykonawca takiego transportu jest zobligowany do przestrzegania szeregu regulacji prawnych, a także musi spełnić warunki przewozu zgodnie z ustaleniami zleceniodawcy. Najważniejszym czynnikiem organizacji przewozu ładunku nienormatywnego jest zadbanie o bezpieczeństwo ładunku, kierowcy oraz innych uczestników ruchu drogowego. Bezpieczeństwo wykonania takiego transportu będzie świadczyło o jakości wykonanej usługi. Obowiązkiem wykonawcy transportu jest zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa już na etapie planowania przewozu transportu nienormatywnego.

The transport of oversized cargo is not the easiest in terms of its preparation, organization and execution. The contractor of such transport is obliged to comply with a number of legal regulations, and must also meet the conditions of transport in accordance with the client's arrangements. The most important factor in organizing the transport of oversized cargo is to ensure the safety of cargo, the driver and other road users. The safety of such transport will prove the quality of the service provided. It is the duty of the transport contractor to ensure safety already at the stage of planning the transport of abnormal transport.

The purpose of this paper is to build a model for assessing the satisfaction of passenger service by the public transport system. The system is constructed using intelligent agents, whose action is based on self-learning principles. The agents are passengers who depend on transport and can choose between two modes: a car or a bus wherein their choice of transport mode for the next day is based on their level of satisfaction and their neighbors’ satisfaction with the mode they used the day before. The paper considers several algorithms of agent behavior, one of which is based on reinforcement learning. Overall, the algorithms take into account the history of the agents’ previous trips and the quality of transport services. The outcomes could be applied in assessing the quality of the transport system from the point of view of passengers.

Niniejszy artykuł porusza tematykę jakości organizacji usług komunikacji miejskiej. Autorka przedstawiła w nim wyniki drugiej części autorskich badań przeprowadzonych wśród pasażerów Miejskiego Przedsiębiorstwa Komunikacyjnego S.A. w Krakowie, z której wynikło na jakim poziomie kształtuje się stopień zadowolenia pasażerów z trzech aspektów organizacji komunikacji MPK Kraków, którymi są: dostępność sieci komunikacyjnej (dostępność połączeń i rozlokowanie przystanków), system informacji (kanały informacyjne dla pasażerów oraz poziom kultury i kompetentności w obsłudze pasażerów) oraz kwestie związane z biletami (działanie automatów biletowych, działanie Krakowskiej Karty Miejskiej, kontrola biletów). Badania pozwoliły na pozyskanie wiedzy na temat postrzegania przez pasażerów jakości organizacji usług MPK Kraków oraz dostarczyły praktycznych wskazówek, sugestii dotyczących kierunków działań, które można podjąć celem udoskonalenia organizacji tych usług.

This article raises a subject of organization quality of public transport services. The author presented in it the results of the second part of the original research conducted among passengers of Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Komunikacyjne S.A. in Krakow, which showed the level of passenger satisfaction from the three aspects of the transport organization of MPK Kraków, which are: accessibility of the communication network (availability of connections and deployment of stops), information system (information channels for passengers and the level of culture and competence in servicing passengers) and issues related to tickets (operation of ticket machines, operation of the Krakowska Karta Miejska, ticket control). The aim of the research was to acquire knowledge about the passengers' perception of the quality in organization of MPK Krakow services and to develop on this basis practical tips and suggestions regarding the directions of actions that can be taken to improve the organization of these services.

W publikacji przedstawiono teoretyczne aspekty związane z jakością usług przewozowych odnośnie przewozów pasażerskich. Specyfika usługi przewozowej powoduje, że stosując do niej klasyczne modele jakości usług (np. Servqual), należy dokonać ich modyfikacji w celu określenia tych elementów, które są charakterystyczne dla tejże usługi. W niniejszej publikacji pokazano, od strony teoretycznej, w jaki sposób można przenieść podstawowe elementy modelu Servqual na kwestie dotyczące jakości usługi transportowej. W wyniku analizy wyodrębniono takie kwestie jak: czas podróży, warunki podróży, niezawodność, bezpieczeństwo oraz dostępność.

The paper presents theoretical aspects related to the quality of transport services relating to passenger transport. The specificity of the transport service makes applying to the classical models of quality of service (eg Servqual), you have to modify them in order to identify those elements that are characteristic of that service. In this publication shows the theoretical how you can move the basic elements of the model Servqual on issues concerning the quality of the transport service. The analysis of isolated issues such as travel time, travel conditions, reliability, safety, affordability and availability.

The article stated the need for the implementation of innovative solutions for wagons. This article presents precondition to increase market share of rail freight. Considerations that must be met by modern rail transport were presented in details. The main focus was on provide assumptions to implement innovative wagons and their areas of influence.

Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych w Krakowie wśród użytkowników samochodów osobowych oraz komunikacji zbiorowej. Celem badań było pozyskanie informacji o preferencjach komunikacyjnych osób realizujących podróże i gotowości do zmiany środka. Wyniki badań wykorzystano do zdefiniowania pakietu instrumentów zarządzania mobilnością, których zastosowanie pozwolić może na zmianę zachowań komunikacyjnych mieszkańców miasta oraz do stworzenia założeń do modelu pokazującego zmiany w podziale zadań przewozowych powstałe pod wpływem zastosowanych instrumentów.

The paper presents results of the inquiry research carried out among car and public transport users in the city of Krakow. The aim of that research was to obtain information about travel behaviour and readiness in changing mobility modes. The inquiry results allow defining a set of mobility management instruments which can influence mobility behaviour change, and were used to create assumptions to the model showing change in modal split which resulted from instruments implementation.

The requirements of various elements regarding the quality of public transport and criteria for its evaluation are presented. Funkcjonowanie współczesnych łańcuchów dostaw zależy przede wszystkim od transportu samochodowego. Powstaje pytanie, jak długo taka zależność będzie występowała. Odpowiedź na nie może mieć decydujący wpływ na przyszłe konstrukcje logistycznych łańcuchów dostaw. W niniejszym artykule zaprezentowane zostały rozważania dotyczące istoty współczesnych łańcuchów dostaw, syntetycznej charakterystyki polskiego transportu samochodowego ładunków realizującego łańcuchy dostaw, a także zagadnienia wymagań jakościowych wobec tej gałęzi transportu, które mogą skutkować zmianą koncepcji logistycznych określających rolę transportu samochodowego w funkcjonowaniu współczesnych łańcuchów dostaw.

Operation of contemporary delivery chains depends to a large degree on vehicle/ road transport. There appears a question, however, for how long such dependence is going to occur. This is a significant question since the answer may influence the future of logistic delivery chains constructions. The following article presents the speculations referring to the current issues related to delivery chains, synthetic characteristics of Polish road transport operating in delivery chains as well as the issues of quality requirements in the field of transport which may result in the change of logistics concepts specifying the role of transport in the operation of current delivery chains.
