W artykule przedstawiono wyniki symulacji komputerowej i wizualizację procesu wykonywania modeli wytapianych. Symulację komputerową przeprowadzono przy zmiennej lepkości masy modelowej i zaprogramowanych parametrach techniczno-technologicznych wykonania modelu - ciśnienie wprowadzenia masy modelowej do matrycy, usytuowanie i wymiary układu zasilającego, geometria przepływu. Przedstawione wyniki to efekt zapoczątkowanych badań symulacyjnych procesu wykonywania modeli.

The results of computer simulation and visualisation of the process of making investment patterns are presented. Computer simulation was carried out on pattern materials of variable viscosity, with preset technical and technological parameters of the pattern-making process, including pressure under which the wax composition was introduced to the die, the configuration and dimensions of the feeding system, and the flow geometry. The results presented here are an outcome of the started simulation programme for the pattern-making process.

Application of stepped pattern in quality assessment of investment castings

The article proves that the stepped pattern can be a versatile tool in examinations of casting quality, i.e. in determination of dimensional accuracy and surface microgeometry. Moreover, the pattern may be useful in evaluation of some important technological parameters used by investment casting technology, e.g. in evaluation of the anisotropy of the ceramic mould properties, which considerably affects errors of the dimensional deformation [...] at successive stages of the technological process of making ceramic moulds and investment castings. The results of the measurements of investment castings made in mixtures of the ceramic materials, like SiO2 and aluminosilicates – Molochite bonded with silicate binders, like colloidal silica, ethyl silicate, SIKOP [1], EKOSIL [2], were evaluated.
