W pierwszej części artykułu zaprezentowano budowę i zasadę działania Systemu Automatycznej Identyfikacji Statków (AIS). Omówiono ogólnie akty prawne nakazujące wyposażanie statków w urządzenia nadawczo-odbiorcze pracujące w AIS. Część zasadnicza zawiera opis techniczny autorskiego internetowego systemu monitorowania obrazu ruchu statków śledzonych w systemie AIS bazującego na serwisach Google Maps, YaHoo Maps, Microsoft Virtual Earth i Google Earth. Ukazano w nim architekturę techniczną systemu oraz proces przetwarzania i przesyłania danych AIS do klienta internetowego. W części końcowej zaprezentowano podobne rozwiązania, funkcjonujące na świecie oraz korzyści płynące dla gospodarki morskiej po zastosowaniu rozwiązania.

The structure and principles of operation of the Automatic Identification System (AIS) of Vessels is presented in first part of the paper. The legislation, which obliges vessels to be fitted with Tx-Rx AIS equipment is described. The main section of the paper contains a technical description of the system for the monitoring of images of vessel traffic in the AIS system. The system, which has been developed by the author, is based on the internet and takes advantage of the facilities offered by Google Maps, YaHoo Maps, Microsoft Virtual Earth and Google Earth services. The technical architecture of the system and the process for the processing and exchanging of AIS data with the internet customer are demonstrated. The final section presents similar solutions implemented across the world as well as the advantages to the maritime economy to be derived from applying the solution.
