Artykuł prezentuje internetową mapę Polski opracowaną w ramach współpracy Instytutu Geodezji i Kartografii oraz firmy InternetART. Celem wspólnych prac było wskazanie wymagań, zdefiniowanie ograniczeń oraz wybór technologii umożliwiającej efektywne prezentowanie w Internecie opracowań kartograficznych. W artykule przedstawiony został zakres treści mapy, a także zasada działania oraz funkcjonalność opracowanej aplikacji.

The paper presents an example of Internet application, which is based on vector geographic data for the territory of Poland in scale 1:200000, created together by Institute of Geodesy and Cartography and InternetART company. The main research task during the realization of the presented project was to choose technology, to point out functionality and to define limitations and requirements necessary for presentation cartographic data in the Internet. To show solutions, which could provide source data security, both from the data editing and protection of copyright side, was one of the main problems in the research. The aim of the project it was to define technology, which could give fast and easy on-line access to the huge amount of various cartographic data and provides this kind of functionality which is necessary from such specific data point of view.
