The effect of titanium nitride (TiN) thickness as the support layer for carbon nanotubes (CNTs) growth was investigated by depositing three different thicknesses: 20 nm, 50 nm and 100 nm. This TiN support layer was deposited on SiO2 pads before depositing nickel (Ni) as the catalyst material. The Ni distribution on different TiN thicknesses was studied under hydrogen environment at 600°C. Then, the samples were further annealed at 600°C in acetylene and hydrogen environment for CNTs growth. The results show that, the optimum TiN thickness was obtained for 50 nm attributed by the lowest D to G ratio (0.8).

The paper focuses on modular conveyors, mainly dedicated for the transport of parcel goods of various properties. Accent will also be put to their use in processes where the belt’s resistance to higher temperatures or to mechanical damage is required. The solution is aimed on the use for installation in larger transport units, production as well assembly lines. The proposal of the conveyor design allows to handle different line sections (bends, broken sections, etc.) using a single drive. The conveyor track will be solved with aim to the transport of goods (products) by means of automated trolleys. A proposal for the synchronization of the conveyor track with an automated handling device will be presented, which will ensure the final phase of the production chain, the relocation of production to the warehouse of finished products. The authors will focus on the calculation of subsequent intervals for automated means of handling as well on determining the capacity of the conveyor track.

W artykule przedstawiono problem projektowania niestandardowego połączenia składającego się z dwóch rur i kompensatora mieszkowego, którego przeznaczeniem jest praca w kriogenicznych temperaturach w akceleratorze cząstek elementarnych. Niecodzienne środowisko pracy wymusiło porzucenie międzynarodowych norm i przeanalizowanie problemu od modelu analitycznego poprzez model numeryczny.

The paper focuses on the problem of designing a nonstandard interconnection consisting of two tubes and an expansion bellow. The interconnection is designed to work in temperatures nearby absolute zero in the particle accelerator. Indications of international standards do not fit to such unstandardized work environment, and had to be abandoned and the precise analysis of the problem had to be done with the use of the analytical and numerical models.

Moreover, functional characteristics determine inner space zoning of art centres, museums, and galleries. This article offers a matrix scheme of inter-connections of a museum of art and structural and spatial zones of such museum.

Poza tym charakterystyki funkcjonalne wyznaczają strefy przestrzeni wewnętrznej centrum artystycznych, muzeów, galerii. W pracy zaproponowany schemat związku wzajemnego funkcji muzeum artystycznego i jego strukturowo-przestrzennych stref.

Biochemical reaction networks may be modeled as biochemical reaction systems consisting of differential equations with rational functions. Biochemical reaction systems are defined as rational positive dynamic systems with inputs and outputs, and illustrated by examples. This formulation makes available the results from algebraic system theory for rational systems and a relation with computer algebra. It is shown how to decompose networks into subsystems and how to relate them to graphs. The realization problem for this class of systems is briefly discussed. Finally, control problems for biochemical reaction networks are formulated.

An idea of a global system for dynamic contracting data paths in the global IP network is presented. System scalability and efficiency is based on the current natural hierarchy of Internet providers. Architecture of the bandwidth market service accomplishing operation of such system is outlined. Benefits from dynamic provisioning of such dedicated paths with QoS guarantees are shown. Utilization of various technologies for this system is discussed.

The MANET networks are of prime interest for military networks. One of the proeminent routing protocols for MANET is OLSR, and indeed, OLSR has been used in many evaluations and experiments of MANETs. As OLSR is on its way to standardization, there are still a number of extensions that are useful and sometimes necessary for practical use of OLSR networks: such extensions are quality of service support, security, and OSPF interconnection. In this paper, we present the architecture, design, specifications and implementations that we made to integrate these features in a military test-bed. This test-bed is a real MANET comprising 18 nodes. These nodes communicate by radio and use the IEEE 802.11b MAC protocol. The OLSR routing protocol updates the routing table used by the IP protocol to forward packets.

Rozwój przemysłu elektronicznego silnie zależy nie tylko od miniaturyzacji podzespołów elektronicznych, ale również od miniaturyzacji płytek obwodów drukowanych. Przedstawiono propozycję wykonywania metalizacji połączeń międzywarstwowych metodą rozpylania magnetronowego miedzi. Technika ta pozwala metalizować połączenia międzywarstwowe dzięki otworom o dużym współczynniku kształtu, których stosunek głębokości do średnicy wynosi nawet 5:1. Próby doświadczalne pokazują, że opisywana technologia stanowi duży sukces w dziedzinie technik metalizacji połączeń międzywarstwowych i zapowiada się bardzo obiecująco pod kątem wytwarzania płytek drukowanych o dużej skali upakowania połączeń.

The development of electronic industry strongly depends on scale of electronic components miniaturization but also depends on miniaturization of printed circuit boards (PCBs). In the paper the idea of interconnections metallization by using of magnetron sputtering deposition of copper is presented. Such process permits to metallize of interconnections based on microvias with high aspect ratio (deep/diameter) even about 5:1. The realized investigations show that the mentioned technology is the big success in domain of techniques of interconnections metallization and it is very promising for High Tech PCBs manufacturing.

Zwrócono uwagę na specyficzne aspekty konkurencji na rynku telekomunikacyjnym w okresie transformacji. Omówiono aspekty regulacyjne w polskiej telekomunikacji. Competition and interconnection issues in the public telecommunications on the ground of the EC regulations are presented. Attention is paid to specific aspects of the competition in the telecommunication market at the transition stage. Regulation aspects in the Polish telecommunications are discussed. A detailed description of the Directive 97/33/EC on interconnection in telecommunications is given. Trends in changes of the telecommunication law in Poland are shown.
