Content available remote Design of Intelligent PD Controller for Water Supply in Healthcare Systems

The necessity of clean environment is the major aspect in this modern age. This maintains a healthy environment. Also several trials have made with multidisciplinary researchers for development of healthy environment. However, it is even important to facilitate the unhealthy people in the healthcares. Some extent technology has an important role to support it. In this paper, a case study of water supply in the modern health care units is analyzed. This work describes the application of rule based Fuzzy Logic for control operation in water supply section. To refine fuzzy rules' initial approximate set automatically, a self-organizing fuzzy controller has been used. The quality factor is increased by applying the PD-type fuzzy controller. To make the system robust, the controller has been designed with Fuzzy Logic rules. The simulation results confirm the advantages and demonstrate for better dynamic behavior and performance, as well as perfect control with no overshoot. For low energy consumption, either the energy input is decreased or the efficiency of the mechanical transmission and processes has been increased. Performance of these new controllers has been verified through simulation using MATLAB.

Content available remote Mobile robot ATRVJr application for risky scenario

Presented paper shows the result of the implementation of the intelligent controller for the autonomous mobile robot ATRVJr applied for risky scenarios. The implemented algorithm based on artificial neural network fuzzyART shows an advantage while working in real environment with the unknown structure and provided not completed information. The main task for controller is to achieve the maximum speed in order to maximizing the prediction problem. The controller manages the damage of the sensor of the robot, due to the goal can be achieved by mobile platform in case of sensor problem. Presented experiments shows the advantages of the controller and proof the need of the usage artificial neural network to implement intelligent control unit for achieving the goals in risky scenario.

Praca przedstawia wynik opracowania inteligentnego sterownika autonomicznego robota mobilnego ATRVJR przeznaczonego do działania w niebezpiecznym, nieznanym środowisku. Zastosowany algorytm decyzyjny oparty na sztucznej sieci neuronowej fuzzyART wykazuje właściwości przydatne w przypadku scenariusza z sytuacją niebezpieczną oraz podczas niekompletnej informacji o środowisku. Założeniem budowy sterownika jest osiągnięcie maksymalnej prędkości robota przy maksymalizacji jakości predykcji sterownika. Sterownik jest przy tym odporny na uszkodzenia sensorów robota, dzięki czemu może dokończyć realizację zamierzonego zadania w sytuacji awarii. Przeprowadzone eksperymenty pokazują zalety sterownika i tym samym udowadniają potrzebę zastosowania sztucznej sieci neuronowej do realizacji postawionego problemu.

In order to improve the process of designing mechatronic devices, an approach, based on a mechatronic model, is proposed. The structure of such model is presented, consisting of partial models of single elements in a system. Methods of creating these models and integrating them into one mechatronic model are discussed. In order to illustrate the approach, a case study is shown, consisting of a mechatronic alignment and fixing device for high-precision machine tools. A test bed of such device is under construction, which will allow experimental verifying partial models of components, as well as the entire system's mechatronic model. An extended set of monitoring sensors will provide accurate system behaviour data useful for such process.

Nowadays most of critical machine elements are manufactured by means of extrusion method. Such workpieces are widely applicable in aeronautical and rocket engineering as well as transport mechanical engineering. One of the methods allowing workpiece quality improvement is isothermal extrusion which provides constant temperature on the surface of the workpiece by changing extrusion velocity. To control over isothermal extrusion process was designed hybrid intelligent controller. This controller was realized as neuro-fuzzy system.
