Ilość danych jest ogromna i cały czas rośnie w szalonym tempie. Jednocześnie przybywa danych zbędnych, a wykonanie bardziej efektywnej, rzetelnej analizy wymaga ich przefiltrowania i usunięcia. Umiejętność wyodrębniania ze zbiorów danych prawidłowych i przydatnych informacji staje się czymś nieodzownym. Dzięki analizie Big Data przedsiębiorstwo zyskuje możliwość oddzielenia „ziarna od plew” i poszerzenia swojej początkowo dość wąskiej perspektywy. Istotą Big Data nie jest objętość (ilość) danych, szybkość ich przepływu ani różnorodność, lecz poszerzenie horyzontów myślowych oraz inne spojrzenie na dane. Chcesz zobaczyć cały las? To nie wychodź z niego, ale wespnij się na szczyt góry. Podobnie rzeczy mają się z Big Data. Szukasz istotnych informacji? Wzbij się niczym ptak w przestworza, a im wyżej się wniesiesz, tym szersze będzie twoje pole widzenia. Aby zobaczyć z zewnątrz to, czego się nie da uchwycić, pozostając wewnątrz, potrzebny jest punkt widzenia obejmujący cały las. I tutaj właśnie wkracza Big Data.

Cities play a fundamental role in the economic development of the country. The vast majority of jobs, innovations and services are concentrated in the cities, thereby determining the country’s economy. Currently, the Smart City is the key concept of sustainable urban development throughout the world. It covers a broad spectrum of issues related to effective, sustainable city management. Today, Kraków faces important challenges in the field of socio-economic and functional development. For years, the city’s authorities have been undertaking activities aimed at making Kraków a smart and modern metropolis, based on scientific potential, while maintaining the unique historical and cultural heritage. The aim of the present work is to analyse the effectiveness of implementing the Smart City concept in Kraków. To achieve that goal, the most important resources, challenges and development aspirations of Kraków have been examined. The strategic objectives set out in the Kraków Development Strategy and the degree of development of selected elements and systems of the city were also analysed. An important element of the work is a questionnaire-based survey carried out among the residents of Kraków. The results of the analyses do not fully confirm the effectiveness of the measures implemented. A city that aspires to become a strong European metropolis should improve solutions to its current development problems, the most important of which include air quality and transport nuisance.

W artykule przedstawiono możliwości wykorzystania mikrokontrolerów typu ATmega w sterownikach systemów zarządzających automatyką obiektów budowlanych. Omówione zostały zasady łączenia mikrokontrolerów oraz przekaźników celu efektywnego sterowania urządzeniami automatyki budynku inteligentnego oraz ograniczenia wynikające z zastosowania tego typu połączeń. Przeprowadzone badania miały na celu zmierzenie wydajności prądowej portów wyjściowych mikrokontrolera i porównanie z zapotrzebowaniem przekaźników w celu uzyskania optymalnego rozwiązania do zastosowania w sterownikach systemów zarządzających automatyką obiektów budowlanych.

Continuing the development of consumer electronics brings ever greater automation of everyday life. It is natural that more and more people are interested in intelligent building, wanting to automate the control of the building's electrical system and even the use of home appliances. Until recently, intelligent building installations were extremely costly and specialized in only a few companies. Only after the popularization of microcontrollers and their availability to individual consumers began to develop cheap home automation controllers. The use of relays in home automation seems to be straightforward, but problems arise when we try to use several relays at the same time, there may be difficulties in closing and opening contacts through the relay coil.

The result expansive development in urban and suburban areas have put in a difficult situation in terms of sustainable development, where pollution, traffic congestion and accidents, the strong negative external impact on the economy and health of citizens. All these problems are encouraged to develop new global strategies for sustainable urban transport. The strategies relate only a wide range of mitigation measures, but also use innovative technologies and infrastructures. The concept of an efficient, effective and safe transport prevails today in the new transport policy. Among the innovative technologies and infrastructures, it should be noted that the use of telematics systems for transport provides for several measures to enable the route and means of transportation that help reduce the time and route of travel, while searching for the increase traffic volume, a better level of service roads, and the rationalization of consumption and emissions, as well as inspection services and information in real time. The introduction of these systems should lead to the development of research population movement and settlement, with improved popular routes, in order to optimize the introduction of TST (Transport System Telematics).

W opracowaniu przedstawione zostały istotne informacje dotyczące specyficznych, ale sukcesywnie wykorzystywanych systemów eksperckich, wspomagających zarządzanie wiedzą gromadzoną w organizacjach przez menedżerów. Inteligentne zarządzanie informacją i wiedzą przedstawione zostało na bazie opisu działania sieci semantycznych, agentów programowych i systemów agentowych. Zasygnalizowane zostały programy wspomagające twórcze myślenie na bazie inteligentnych struktur informatycznych.

Core information concerning specific but gradually used expert systems supporting knowledge management in enterprises is shown in this paper. The intelligent information and knowledge management is described on the basis of semantic network operation characteristics, program agents and agents systems. Applications supporting creative thinking based on intelligent information structures are highlighted.

Inteligentne zarządzanie miastem z wykorzystaniem nowoczesnych systemów informatycznych leży u podstaw koncepcji Smart City. Ich zastosowanie w projektach inteligentnego zarządzania transportem (ITS) nie tylko ogranicza poziom kongestii, ale w konsekwencji kształtuje zrównoważony rozwój miasta (ITS-driven sustainable city development). Rola jakości ITS w rozwoju miast UE została dostrzeżona przez Komisję Europejską rekomendującą sposoby ich projektowania i implementacji. Szczególnie interesujące dla tego rozwiązania jest zastosowanie cloud computing. Na tym tle zaprezentowano wyniki badania statutowego SGH z 2012 roku analizującego zakres i cel wdrażania projektów ITS w polskich miastach.

Intelligent management of the city with the use of modern information systems is the basis of the concept of Smart City. IT use for intelligent transportation systems (ITS) not only reduces the level of congestion, but as a consequence shapes the sustainable development of the city (ITS-driven sustainable city development). The role of the quality of ITS in UE urban development has been recognized by the European Commission recommending methods of its design and implementation. Of particular interest to this arrangement is the use of cloud computing model. Based on this background, the paper presents results of the research concerning the scope and purpose of the ITS projects’ implementation in Polish cities conducted in 2012 by Logistics Dept. in WSE.

W artykule przedstawiono zarys koncepcji miasta przyszłości na podstawie modelu Eco City i tzw. zielonej urbanistyki w ujęciu S. Lehmanna. Podkreślono konieczność zwiększenia gęstości zagospodarowania miasta przyszłości, co wiązać się będzie z ograniczaniem zagospodarowania terenów biologicznie czynnych. Wskazano warunek sprostania wymaganiom wielokulturowości związanej z procesami globalizacji. Scharakteryzowano zasady inteligentnego zarządzania (Smart Govenance) związane z upowszechnianiem partycypacji publicznej jako drogi do określania celów rozwojowych oraz łagodzenia konfliktów, które będą pojawiały się w wielokulturowych i gęsto zasiedlonych przestrzeniach zurbanizowanych. Wskazano postulaty procedur deliberacyjnych umożliwiających dialog publiczny, warunkujący autentyczne uczestnictwo społeczne. Artykuł podkreśla konieczność integracji działań w obrębie gospodarki przestrzennej i zarządzania rozwojem.

The paper presents the outline of the concept of the city of the future based on the Eco City model and the so-called “green urbanism” in the perspective of S. Lehmann. The necessity of increasing the density of spatial development of the city of the future was emphasized. This will be connected with the limitation of developing biologically active areas. The necessity of meeting the multiculturalism – which is related to the globalization – demands was pointed out. Smart Governance rules were characterized. They are related to the popularization of public participation as a way of defining development objectives and mitigating conflicts that will appear in multicultural and densely populated urbanized spaces. Postulates of deliberation procedures allowing public dialogue conditioning authentic social participation were presented. The article emphasizes the necessity of integrating actions within spatial economy and development management.
