It is proved that for every non-zero vector n = (nl, n2, n3) [belongs to Z^3] with height h(n) = max[i][belongs to]{1,2,3} |n[i]| there exist linearly independent vectors p,q [belongs to Z^3], such that n = up + vq, u, v [belongs to] Z and h(P)h(q) [is less than or equal to] C(n)(h(n))^1/2, where C(n) is an explicitly given function and 1 < C(n) < [2*3^(-1/2)].
