Aiming at resolving the technical bottlenecks existing in current warp knitting machine control systems, such as the distributed industrial wireless networked control system, in this study the architecture of a warp knitting machine industrial wireless networked control system based on the WIA-PA international standard is proposed which provides a design idea for building a „smart factory”. Secondly, according to the WIA-PA specification, an allocation plan of time slots in a super-frame for intra-cluster and inter-cluster communication is given. Third, in order to enhance the real-time access of equipment, expand the network capacity, and reduce the energy consumption of the system, based on the carrier sense multiple access (CSMA) mechanism supported by IEEE STD 802.1 5.4:2006, an adjustment algorithm of the super-frame structure based on fuzzy control was designed. The effectiveness of the design method was verified by simulation.

Mając na celu rozwiązanie technicznych wąskich gardeł istniejących w obecnych systemach sterowania maszynami do dziania osnowowego zaproponowano projekt adaptacyjnego algorytmu planowania dla osnowarki oparty na teorii zbiorów rozmytych spełniający wymagania międzynarodowego standardu WIA-PA. Skuteczność metody projektowania zweryfikowano za pomocą symulacji.

Content available Safety of complex aircraft ergatic systems

In this paper, aircraft safety of complex critical systems in terms of the automation and safety has been investigated. We think, due to the automation, the role of operators has shifted from active control to passive monitoring. Performing this last task even might be more difficult because of the monotony and needs of realization of the active control in emergency situation. The management of complex ergatic systems is relevant at the present stage of the development of science and technology. It is a particular concern to evaluate the activity of an operator as the element of the ergatic system. New technologies presented by automation should complement and not displace human functions in aircraft control. The paper focuses on new technologies applied in aircraft systems to ensure higher safety and system reliability. The main problem of aircraft safety is addressed to aircraft critical systems as helicopter transmission system monitoring, aircraft system integration, and system redundancy. The research is based on experimental methods and case studies. The subject of the research is to evaluate the importance of complex ergatical systems, e.g., interaction between the subject and the object in its operational process. As the example of helicopter main gearbox diagnostics, as an object of complex engineering system, is stated hypothesis that there is possibility to determine changes in the characteristics of critical flight parameters and to determine the current level of flight hazard. The work is based on experimental and measurementbased testing, systematic and scientific procedure of data collection, analysis and interpretation. The practical implication can be utilized for safety benefits, risk mitigation and avoidance.

This study aimed to explore the potential impact of the Lean Manufacturing methodology on the implementation and functioning of the BRC Standard for Packaging. The study highlighted many issues where the Lean Manufacturing concept supports and opposes the BRC Standard for Packaging. A framework for the coexistence of both approaches was determined. The study was of a conceptual nature; it adopted an analytical approach. The approach was based on in-depth consideration of each requirement in the BRC Standard for Packaging s and an assessment of the coherence with the Lean Manufacturing methodology. As a result, many conclusions, clues and challenges were found. The article indicates several areas, in which Lean Manufacturing supports the BRC Standard for Packaging, attributing a special positive role to Lean Tools & Techniques. Also, it indicates six areas, in which the BRC Standard for Packaging contradicts the Lean Manufacturing approach. A comprehensive analysis of the coexistence of both management systems allows a better understanding of challenges while implementing both of them in an organisation. The presented concept of the coexistence of both systems is valuable for management.

In the paper field experience with Statcom in application to a wind farm is presented. Statcom in such applications is usually used to provide low voltage ride-through and improve stability of the power system. In this case the reactive power compensation capabilities are utilized. Statcom can generate reactive power according to a selected strategy directly in the point of connection of the wind farm to the power system. This provides additional advantages over the direct turbine control: it can stabilize the power system, decrease flicker level and provide reactive power directly in the DSO’s connection irrespective of wind farm’s turbines operation.

Artykuł prezentuje doświadczenia z wdrażania układu typu Statcom do kompensacji oddziaływania farmy wiatrowej. Kompensatory Statcom w tych zastosowaniach zwykle używane są do zapewnienia poprawnej pracy podczas zaburzeń napięcia oraz do poprawienia stabilności systemu elektroenergetycznego. W prezentowanym przypadku wykorzystano zdolność układu do nadążnej kompensacji mocy biernej. Kompensator wytwarza moc bierną w zależności od wybranej strategii kompensacji bezpośrednio w punkcie przyłączenia farmy do systemu. Taki sposób przyłączenia ma szereg zalet w stosunku do bezpośredniego sterowania mocą bierną turbin wiatrowych: umożliwia m.in. stabilizację systemu, zmniejszenie poziomu wahań napięcia i generację mocy biernej niezależnie od trybu pracy turbin.

The paper pays attention to the increasing number of systems working on transport objects, as well as to the results of their implementation. System integration is proposed as one of the ways to increase functionality and safety of transport telematic systems. The paper defines and describes integration process and names its main purposes. In a similar way it presents two selected airport’s systems, used as an example in order to show the influence of integration and the difference between independent subsystems and the integrated unit. At the same time it pays special attention to benefits arising from integration according to limitation of systems’ inputs and outputs, which results in limitation of unnecessary repetitions of the same information as well as to repetitions of the same algorithms (elaborations of system’s outputs) in different subsystems. Finally effects of subsystems’ integration are presented according to the telematic services they realise.

This paper sets out the objectives of Geothermal Communities project for the demo-site of Montieri (Italy). The realisation of the geothermal district-heating network is combined with energy efficiency measures on buildings and the integration of other renewable energy sources within the historic town. Specificity and innovation of geothermal energy use in Montieri are outlined together with the designed retrofit interventions. The adoption of an integrated approach that combines the use of different resources and measures demonstrates to be a priority to preserve the geothermal resource for future generations.

W ramach projektu Społeczności Geotermalne (GEOCOM) we włoskim mieście Montieri realizowany jest innowacyjny system geotermalnej sieci ciepłowniczej wraz z integracją z innymi OZE połączony z modernizacją budynków przy równoczesnym zachowaniu średniowiecznej struktury miasta. Takie innowacyjne połączenie w systemie ciepłowniczym różnych OZE, wykorzystanie ich zasobów, ma na celu przede wszystkim ochronę zasobów geotermalnych dla przyszłych pokoleń.

Potrzeby integrowania systemów bezpieczeństwa transportu wynikają ze współczesnych wymagań cywilizacyjnych i systemowych. Warunkiem realizacji tych potrzeb jest silne wsparcie procesów integracyjnych wiedzą ukierunkowaną na typowe dla systemu transportu zjawiska powstawania wypadków i awarii, techniki badań czy potrzeby komunikowania o uzyskanych wynikach tych badań. Szczególnym wymaganiem prowadzenia badań wypadków transportowych jest ich niezależność, multidyscyplinarność i innowacyjność. W Polsce, wskutek niezwykle skromnego finansowania a także rozproszenia badań nad bezpieczeństwem transportu, tworzenie naukowych podstaw integracji systemów bezpieczeństwa transportu staje się niezwykle trudnym zadaniem, zwłaszcza w zakresie integrowania funkcji i struktur organizacyjnych transportu lotniczego, wodnego i kolejowego z transportem drogowym.

The need to integrate transport safety systems results from modern civilization and system requirements. The condition for satisfying these needs is a strong support of the integration processes by the knowledge aimed at typical for transport system phenomena of accidents and failures appearance, the techniques of investigation, or need to communicate on the findings of these studies. A particular requirement of the transport accident investigations is their independence, multidisciplinarity and innovation. In Poland, due to extremely modest funding and fragmentation of research on transport safety, to create the scientific basis for the integration of transport safety is an extremely difficult task, particularly in integrating functions and organizational structures of air, water and rail with road transport.

Implementation of the system which supports the processes in public administration with the use of the electronic Platform of Public Administration Services (ePUAP), creates new opportunities for the development of many new concepts in the Information Society. The ePUAP system is a platform which clearly supports the communication processes using e-documents, mainly in the scope of office-citizen communication. The paper shows the possibilities of vast functionality extension of the ePUAP platform by implementing the system services dedicated to the user, enhancing the private document management and the correspondence with the public institutions with the use of ePUAP platform. The concept of the functionality of the Dok system is extended with an aspect of the prototype system implementation, crucial for the usage of many modern technological solutions.

W pracy zaprezentowano wyniki poszukiwania przestrzeni prędkości rozdrabniania na przykładzie pięciu tarcz. Sterowano prędkością rozdrabniania krawędzi otworów poszczególnych tarcz, dla uzyskania odpowiedniej wydajności ogólnej. Results of seeking for a grinding rate space for five disc system in biomaterial grinding process are presented in the paper. The grinding rate as a function of global mass output and number of discs was controlled to acquire the appropriate grinding effectiveness. As a result one obtained the design of 5-disc working unit and the rate ranges of discs.

Purpose: The study aims to reduce the surface dimensional error due to the part deflection during the machining of thin wall structures, thus, reduce machining costs and lead times by producing “right first time” components. Design/methodology/approach: The proposed simulation environment involves a data model, an analytical force prediction model, a material removal model and an FE analysis commercial software package. It focuses on the development of the simulation environment with a multi-level machining error compensation approach. Findings: The developed simulation environment can predict and reduce the form error, which is a limitation of the existing approaches. Research limitations/implications: The energy consumption, temperature change and residual stress are not studied in this research. Practical implications: The developed method provides a platform to deliver new functionality for machining process simulation. The convergence of the proposed integrated system can be achieved quickly after only a few iterations, which makes the methodology reliable and efficient. Originality/value: The study offers an opportunity to satisfy tight tolerances, eliminate hand-finishing processes and assure part-to-part accuracy at the right first time, which is a limitation of previous approaches.

Przedstawiono koncepcje kooperacyjne, ramy współpracy przedsiębiorstw i propozycję kooperacyjnej struktury organizacyjnej oraz minimalne wymagania, jakie muszą być spełnione, aby można było wdrożyć struktury kooperacyjne i narzędzia modelowania przedsiębiorstwa.

This paper identifies some organizational aspects of the evolution of current communication structures for cooperative supply chain, discuss the cooperative concepts and a framework for enterprise cooperation as well as a proposal for a cooperative organizational structure. The minimal requirements for implementation of cooperative structures and enterprise modeling tools are also presented.
