Most domestic companies from the SME sector cannot afford to bear the risk of unsuitable technological, market and financial decisions related to innovation activities. The risk of failure can be significantly reduced by entering into a cooperation with customers standing at a much higher level of innovative development. The main goal of this article is to describe the process of gradually increasing the innovative capacity of the Polish family business that has been achieved through the cooperation within the global industrial chain operating in the field of public service vehicle industry.

Wiekszość przedsiębiorstw rodzimych z sektora MSP nie stać na ponoszenie ryzyka technologicznego, rynkowego i finansowego nietrafionych decyzji związanych z działalnością innowacyjną. Ryzyko niepowodzenia można znacznie obniżyć nawiązując współpracę z odbiorcami stojącymi na znacznie wyższym poziomie rozwoju innowacyjnego. Głównym celem artykułu jest opis procesu stopniowego zwiększania potencjału innowacyjnego polskiego przedsiębiorstwa rodzinnego osiągniętego w wyniku współpracy w ramach globalnych łańcuchów przemysłowych funkcjonujących w branży pojazdów komunikacji publicznej.

The current situation of the textile and clothing industry in the European Union is still quite difficult. For the most part, it is the result of the expansive development of the Asian industry. The European Union undertakes actions to lead to modernization of the SME sector in the field of production and the implementation of new technologies. In spite of large pressure on the side of European Commission ( it deals with the improvement of innovation position all enterprises in textile industries), above the half of the enterprises are not interested in financing and developing their innovativeness in Poland. Our country is at the „grey” end on the background of other European countries. This also relates to the R+D activity which is led by only 13% SME in the textile industry (for the comparison: Germany and Italian - 70%). There are many existing barriers and „external” threats, which are the direct reason of the bad situation in Poland (confirmed by own research). It can be resulted in deterioration of the conditions of the functioning this industry in the international arena and decreasing of its competitiveness. In the case of Poland (at the current level of innovative development), it spells a decrease in the number of the few companies left. Therefore, it necessary seems now, the creation substantial instruments supporting the innovative development of this industry in the several next years.

Trudna sytuacja przemysłu tekstylno - odzieżowego jest następstwem jego ekspansywnego rozwoju w regionie azjatyckim. Efektem tego jest podejmowanie zdecydowanych działań przez Unie Europejską, prowadzących do unowocześnienia sektora MSP w dziedzinie produkcji i wdrożeń nowych technologii. Pomimo dużego nacisku ze strony Komisji Europejskiej na podnoszenie innowacyjności w branży tekstylnej, ponad połowa przedsiębiorstw w Polsce nie widzi potrzeby inwestowania i rozwoju swojej innowacyjności. Na tle krajów unijnych pod tym względem znajdujemy się na „szarym” końcu. Dotyczy to również działalność B+R, którą prowadzi tylko ok. 13% małych i średnich podmiotów przemysłu tekstylno – odzieżowego (dla porównania Niemcy i Włosi – 70%). Powodem tak złej sytuacji są liczne, istniejące bariery i zagrożenia „zewnętrzne”, co potwierdzają badania własne. Mogą one prowadzić do pogorszenia warunków funkcjonowania tego przemysłu na arenie międzynarodowej i spadek jego konkurencyjności, co w przypadku Polski (przy obecnym poziomie rozwoju innowacyjnego) może oznaczać jego likwidację. Konieczne wydaje się więc, stworzenie więc określonych instrumentów wspierających innowacyjny rozwój tej branży w kilku najbliższych latach.
