This paper discusses analysis of the innovative activities of mining companies in the years 2016–2018 against the background of innovation active industrial enterprises. In addition, reference is made in the article to the previous findings and research in the field of the level of innovation of mining companies. Despite the fact that the mining industry belongs to traditional industries and is considered to be not very innovative, it undertakes innovation activities necessitated by the need to bring the coal-fired power generation to market competitiveness, ensure industrial safety of miners and environmental protection. In recent years, mainly process innovations have been introduced, which is due to ongoing industry-restructuring processes. Despite the risks, the industry should recognise the opportunities in the current situation and try to use them for further innovations. The main objectives of the energy sector included in the Program for the hard coal mining sector in Poland should be pursued particularly through building new knowledge and innovation intensive competitive advantages. The implementation of clearly defined directions of innovation strategy in accordance with the provisions of the documents governing the Mining of Hard Coal section in Poland will enable its later functioning, country's energy independence and competitiveness of the national economy.

Artykuł prezentuje analizę działalności innowacyjnej przedsiębiorstw górniczych w latach 2016–2018 na tle aktywnych innowacyjnie przedsiębiorstw przemysłowych. Ponad to w artykule odniesiono się do wcześniejszych analiz i badań z zakresu poziomu innowacyjności przedsiębiorstw górniczych. Pomimo, że branża górnicza przynależy do tradycyjnych branż przemysłu i uważana jest za mało innowacyjną to podejmuje działania innowacyjne, których konieczność wynika z potrzeby zapewnienia konkurencyjności energetyki węglowej, bezpieczeństwa pracy górników oraz ochrony środowiska. W ostatnich latach wprowadzane są głównie innowacje procesowe, co wynika z trwających nadal procesów restrukturyzacji branżowej. Pomimo istniejących zagrożeń, branża powinna zauważać szanse w obecnej sytuacji i starać się ją wykorzystać do wprowadzenia kolejnych innowacji. Konieczne staje się realizowanie głównych celów sektora energetycznego zawartych w Programie dla sektora górnictwa węgla kamiennego w Polsce poprzez budowanie nowych przewag konkurencyjnych opartych w szczególności na wiedzy i innowacyjności. Realizacja jasno wyznaczonych kierunków strategii innowacyjnej, ujętych w dokumentach regulujących funkcjonowanie górnictwa węgla kamiennego w Polsce pozwoli na dalsze jego funkcjonowanie, niezależność energetyczną kraju i konkurencyjność gospodarki narodowej.

Under the conditions of the constant changes taking place in the technological, social and economic spheres, one of the desired features of the healthcare system is innovation. Broadly understood innovation is the basic method of overcoming competitive struggle under the system of market regulation in Poland. The goal of the healthcare sector is to provide services that are of high quality and that are available to all who need them in specific areas. Innovative activity in the healthcare sector has to lead to the building of competitive advantage by increasing operational efficiency and providing health service quality. The maintenance and enhancement of market place has led to the support and stimulation of new services, new products and the taking on of best organizational and marketing solutions. The article aims to generate an understanding of the financing sources of the healthcare sector innovation activity in the Łódzkie province. The studies refer to the cooperation of enterprises from the healthcare sector in creating innovations, including the selection of financing sources of innovative undertakings.

The majority of Czech managers are aware that the long-term competitiveness of the company depends primarily on the use of innovative technical solutions and investments in new technologies. Despite awareness of the importance of innovation, many companies do not know how to manage, implement, and evaluate them. Empirical research showed that most innovation firms implement, but do not systematically manage the implementation of innovative projects and the allocation of funds. There is a contradiction between companies' ability to orientate themselves in the approaches available in the area of innovation management and the existence of a large number of approaches that can be used to address a particular type of innovation problem. A set of innovation concepts has been created to solve those challenges. Practical steps of the decision-making mechanism for selecting innovation concepts have been proposed. The decision-making mechanism is based on the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and serves primarily for managers of medium and large enterprises.

W artykule podjęto próbę zbadania możliwości innowacyjnego rozwoju województwa świętokrzyskiego. W związku z tym określono mierniki postępu technicznego, przeanalizowano liczbę jednostek badawczo-rozwojowych ogółem oraz w sektorze przedsiębiorstw, a także liczbę zatrudnionych w sektorze B+R, w tym pracowników naukowo-badawczych. Następnie zbadano nakłady wewnętrzne i zewnętrzne na działalność badawczo-rozwojową, nakłady na działalność innowacyjną oraz określono miejsce województwa świętokrzyskiego w Polsce według liczby środków automatyzacji procesów produkcyjnych. Zaprezentowano również dane liczbowe dotyczące nauki i postępu technicznego w województwie świętokrzyskim w relacji do średnich wartości cech opisujących postęp techniczny w Polsce lub jako odsetek wartości dotyczącej całego kraju.

This article makes an attempt on exploring the possibility of innovative development of the Świętokrzyskie Province. Measures of technical progress are defined. The number of R & D units is analyzed in total and in the corporate sector, as well as the number of employees in the R & D, including research staff. Then, the internal and external spending on research and development are examined and an investment in innovative activity. Place of the Świętokrzyskie in Poland is specified, according to the number of automated production processes. Figures for scientific and technical progress in the Świętokrzyskie Province in relation to the average values of characteristics that describe technological progress in Poland, or as a percentage of the whole country are presented and discussed.
