The paper presents computer software for calculation and visualization of magnetic field distribution in permanent magnet motors. The finite element method (FEM) for calculation of magnetic field distribution has been used. Special attention has been paid to the analysis of systems with mhomogeneously magnetized permanent magnets. Brushless motors with radially and inhomogenously magnetized magnets have been compared.

The paper discuss the influence of inhomogeneous permanent magnet magnetization on the electromagnetic torque in brushless permanent magnet motor with two planes system of permanent magnets. The calculations have been performed using the 3D edge element method (EEM). Selected results of 3D electromagnetic torque calculate, for the different distribution of magnetization vector are compared and discussed.
