Celem artykułu jest ukazanie potrzeby wdrożenia nowego sposobu gromadzenia i udostępniania informacji naukowej.

The constantly increasing amount of overwhelming and confusing information is often out of date, insufficient and unreliable. This leads to a new paradigm for information management - information ecology. As a result, we obtain relevant information which can be also observed in library activity. Many of the processes and some of the functions have changed, but the purpose of university libraries remains constant. The primary goal is to make information meaningful where traditional and electronic sources co-exist providing users with up-to-date information.
