Generation change contributes to the emergence of new consumer trends, defined by global economy researchers as medium-term trends. One of them is the modification of the existing traditional model of ownership and use of cars. The sharing economy is based on the sharing of resources (e.g. cars) by owners to external entities or individual users. Mobility-as-a-Service has become the answer to new mobility needs. In the future, its development will affect the creation of new business models, both by existing and new market players, not only from the automotive industry but also IT sector, especially its part dealing with the creation of mobile applications. This paper presents MaaS characteristics and the use of this kind of services in mobility in the city.

Technological convergence has had a huge impact on development of automotive industry. Two main concepts related to mobile technology and the Internet of Things (IoT) in this industry are car connectivity and Internet of Cars (IoC). The article aims to present these two concepts with special emphasis on the characteristics of people mobility in future cities.

In this paper we discuss the theoretical and practical aspects of knowledge exchange with robots based on information logistics models. The information exchange is discussed while using both centralized and distributed knowledge bases. The information exchange involves ontology. Ontology is of crucial importance for knowledge exchange since it allows the robots to “understand” semi-structured information, and automatically generate queries and updates for the knowledge base. Our emphasis is to communicate to robots new knowledge that can be used by them to make their activities more efficient.

W tym artykule dyskutowane sa teoretyczne i praktyczne aspekty wymiany wiedzy z robotami opierajac się na modelach logistyki informacji. Generalne wymogi dla logistyki informacji zastosowane to logistyki wiedzy obejmują zapewnienie dostarczenia właściwej „wiedzy”, we właściwym formacie, w odpowiednim czasie, i do właściwego odbiorcy. W niniejszej pracy przedyskutowane różne modele logistyki wiedzy.

Development of information and communication technologies is caused by global economic changes, especially internationalization of business activities, shortening product life cycles, oligopolization of industries and concentration of capital. Automotive industry has been a precursor of modern technology and management strategies for many years. Market changes have led to the need to build new logistics systems which main element is the modularity of production. Communication in global supply chains is largely based on software that uses many communication channels. This phenomenon of media convergence enables efficient flow of information between members of the supply chain and building modified value-added chains, especially by using virtual teams and software agents.

A particular role in the management of the contemporary enterprise is played by information. Knowledge gained on the basis of the above directly influences the effectiveness of the functioning on the dynamically changing market. The necessity of taking decisions, which are quick and, which is important, loaded with the smallest possible risk, causes that the achieved information should be characterized by the optimum quality. It must be up-to-date, credible or generally useful. The field of the competitive fight, in this area, is information logistics. Its optimization is to bring about an increase in the performance of the organization and, simultaneously, the achievement of competitive advantage.

The paper is focused on the description of the project, which is oriented to the application of information logistics in a particular environment of company engaged in the rail freight. The aim and the main benefit of the project is to increase the information support for an entity that implements a service information for the target group of customers who need to keep track of where desired material is found. The research is based on a model application of automatic identification systems to precisely defined physical models created for this purpose. Model represents a particular scale railway junction in which there is a redeployment of wagons. The model will be validated behavioural assumptions RFID chips select and define the appropriate chips for specific environment and technical solutions to their location and anchoring. Subsequently, the knowledge and the information verified in the real environment of rail freight. The project involved three research institutions: Transport Research Institute, JSC., Technical University of Košice and University of Žilina.
