This paper presents the main problems encountered by a member of information society. In order to fulfill the information needs every citizen needs to be provided with information of appropriate quality. One of the most important conditions of a proper functioning in information society is also information and social order. The article contains enumeration of main psychological information barriers that interfere achieving information goals, namely: information overload, lack of information literacy and memory problems.

Tematem artykułu są bariery informacyjne utrudniające studentom korzystanie z informacji. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na różnice w postrzeganiu barier przez studentów, wynikające z takich cech respondentów, jak płeć, rodzaj nauk i rok studiów.

The subject of the paper are the information barriers hindering the use of information by students. Special attention is paid to the differences in perceiving the barriers by students due to such variables as sex, field of study and year of study.
