Urban planning and urban design involve complex processes that require detailed information about the visual information of a place at various scales. Different graphic tools, such as game engines, are evolving to use urban representation fields. The concept of "level of detail" (LOD) has been used to categorize the level of detail in AEC applications such as BIM and GML for urban representation models. However, there is a need to distinguish between different LOD concepts commonly used in various fields, as these terms have different interpretations and implications. This article presents a novel approach to re-categorizing the level of detail concept in AEC applications, led by the traditional use of LOD and in parallel with urban planning scales. From an urbanist perspective, a four-stage LOD classification framework has been studied: LOD 1000 for urban and neighbourhood scales, LOD 2000 for the plaza and square scales, LOD 3000 for architectural and street scales, and LOD 4000 for protected and private areas.

Przyjmując za Arystotelesem, że miasto to ludzie różnego rodzaju, miasto jutra- to w moim przekonaniu „miasto dla ludzi”. Miasto tworzone na miarę i potrzeby człowieka, którego przestrzenne ramy tworzą szeroką ofertę dla realizacji potrzeb społecznych . Opracowanie dotyczy zatem bycia i życia człowieka w przestrzeni miejskiej i jej doświadczania wielozmysłowego wyrażonego w społecznych zachowaniach. Badania, dotyczą potencjalnego oddziaływania atrybutów, sytuacji i zakresów przestrzennych na motywacje, wybory, aktywności i kontakty społeczne. Mają też na celu zwiększenie zainteresowanie architektów tym problemem.

Aristotle treated the city as a collection of various people. In my opinion, tomorrow’s city is “a city for the people”, a city created for human qualities and needs whose spatial frames produce a broad offer for the realization of social demand. Therefore, this paper concerns man’s existence and residence in an urban space and its sensory experience expressed in social behaviours. My research concerns the potential impact of spatial attributes, situations and scopes on social motivations, choices, activities and contacts. It also aims at increasing architects’ interest in this problem.

The center of the town exhibits a sight of overlopping, often poorly exposed architectural forms, and fair-sized, emerging into the foreground, agressive in means of form, color and contents, commercial posters. Aggressiveness, with ehich some of the posters act, is so intense, that they obstruct and muffle, usually beautiful and unique monumental fragments of architecture. Increasing especially in recent years, metamorphosis. has brought even a greater problrm of meaning of commercial in our surroundings. However, it has to be balanced and should be hand in hand with growing meaning of environmental and cultural values. It imposes an obligation of exceptional sensibility and responsibility on the designer, because he is the designer, because he is the one who creates the civic life.
