One of the most significant phases for automation of communication processes in shipping is building a knowledge base for inference processes. Communication processes include: exchange of information, perception of communication and interaction between navigators. Computing with words has been used to represent inference processes covering imprecise concepts that are characteristic of natural languages. Elements of classical predicate calculus were adopted as a basic form of writing inference rules. Methods for constructing a knowledge base were chosen. The knowledge base architecture was proposed. This article also presents examples of inference rules in a knowledge base for automatic communication in shipping.

Content available remote Integrity rules for multiargument relationships in possibilistic databases
EN
The paper contains an analysis of multiargument relationships in possibilistic databases. A multiargument relationship may be formally presented using the relational notation R(X1, X2,...,Xn), where R is the name of the relationship and attributes Xi denote keys of entity sets which participate in it. The dependencies between all n attributes describe the integrity constraints and must not be infringed. They constitute a restriction for relationships of fewer attributes. In the paper it is considered a possible coexistence of associations between k < n attributes of the n-ary relationship. The analysis is carried out using the theory of fuzzy functional dependencies. The notion of functional dependency has been appropriately extended according to the representation of data.

The paper deals with communication processes between ship navigators based on standard marine communication phrases. The authors consider information exchange, message perception and interactions, e.g. negotiations. For this purpose navigational information and communication ontologies have been complemented by elements of the protoform theory. The considerations include inference processes, related to additional information acquisition and negotiations. Computing with words is applied to the modelling of communication processes.

One of the causes of ships’ accidents are errors in the communication between navigators in charge of ships concerned. The most common causes include a lack of communication, misunderstanding of a received message, incorrect choice of the type of message or misinterpretation of the information exchanged. These errors can be significantly reduced by the automation of intership communication processes, in particular by a developed automatic maritime communication system. The decision to communicate is as essential as communication itself. This paper presents the problem of identifying situations requiring the establishing of communication by a sea-going vessel. A definition of the need to establish communication between the vessels is associated with the acquisition of data, analysis and evaluation of the navigational situation and the relevant inference process. Based on an analysis of the process of identifying navigation situations which require communication between proceeding ships, the model of automatic identification of such situations has been developed.

W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienie automatyzacji procesów komunikacji między kierującymi statkami oraz między nimi a operatorami ośrodków lądowych. Określono obszary i zakres automatycznej komunikacji.

The article deals with the problem of the automation of communication processes between ship navigators and land-based centre operators. The areas and scope of automatic communication have been determined, taking into account information exchange as well as negotiations. An overview of negotiation methods used in e-business is made, where automatic negotiations were introduced first. Mathematical tools for formal description of information exchange, co-operation and negotiation processes are presented. An example of negotiations is given.

Nowadays, with growing use of location-aware, wirelessly connected, mobile devices, we can easily capture trajectories of mobile objects. To exploit these raw trajectories, we need to enhance them with semantic information. Several research fields are currently focusing on semantic trajectories to support inferences and queries to help users validate and discover more knowledge about mobile objects. The inference mechanism is needed for queries on semantic trajectories connected to other sources of information. Time and space knowledge are fundamental sources of information used by the inference operation on semantic trajectories. This article discusses new approach for inference mechanisms on semantic trajectories. The proposed solution is based on an ontological approach for modelling semantic trajectories integrating time concepts and rules. We present a case study with experiments, optimization and evaluation to show the complexity of inference and queries. Then, we introduce a refinement algorithm based on temporal neighbour to enhance temporal inference. The results show the positive impact of our propos al on reducing the complexity of the inference mechanism.

Content available Informational database on selected music works
EN
Basing on the review of available literature devoted to applications of programming tools in research on mechanism of music perception, the first results of my own research devoted to mining of hidden regularities in pieces of various types of music is presented. General characteristics of the developed databases, methodology of executed research, and discussion of the discovered knowledge structures for selected types of music pieces are briefly dealt with.
