Several environmental impact assessments (EIAs) have been conducted since the petroleum ındustry environmental guidelines and standards were issued in 1991. Thus, EIA has become a standard practice in environmental planning for various project operations and activities. However, studies indicate that little has been achieved regarding environmental management in Iraq’s oil industries. The reason for this is the reluctance of institutions to adopt environmental management systems, either due to the scarcity of basic information through which environmental impacts are measured, or the lack of financial allocations to implement mitigation measures and control plans, or the lack of human resources and the lack of political commitment to implementing environmental management plans. This research aims to assess the environmental impact of the East Baghdad field in the Midland Oil Company, by identifying a number of indicators that have been selected in proportion to the nature of the company’s work. A rapid impact assessment matrix was used, which includes a set of components (physical and chemical, environmental and biological, social and cultural, economic and operational) and for each component a set of sub-indicators that ultimately indicate the environmental degree of environmental impact. Accordingly, the research reached a group of results, the most important of which is the presence of serious negative environmental impacts in the field site and the operations and activities related to it, such as soil and air pollution, obsolescence of equipment and scarcity of technology with a percentage of 70.8%, while the positive effects amounted to 25% only, which predicts an environmental deterioration in the company’s work sites.

Content available remote Aspects of improving the organization directed to the quality
EN
Purpose: A new approach for organization connected with system approach, process approach, quality improvement has been presented. Design/methodology/approach: The possibility of estimation of organization quality is connected with system approach and improvement in organization. Interdependence of quality rules and quality methods in management processes has been taken into account. Findings: At the present time the enterprises should manage and control all its activities in systematic way. Such kind of strategy will enable to achieve success for these companies. Research limitations/implications: Described system approach, quality management principles can be employed in company. The possibility of improvement of organization with certificated Quality Management System has been presented. Practical implications: Analytical Model of the Quality Evaluation of the Business Administration can be used in company for evaluation of the quality indicator of organization directed to the quality. Originality/value: Describing and estimating the level of organization quality with usage of Analytical Model of the Quality Evaluation of the Business Administration has been presented. This method is a propose of new strategy of efficiency and efficiencies activities of all organization.

Content available remote SaaS - direction of technology development in ERP/MRP systems
EN
Purpose: The main issue of this paper is present modern SaaS technology (Software as a Service) used in ERP/MRP class systems designated for production companies from different SME lines. Design/methodology/approach: The paper presents assumptions and aims of implementation of SaaS systems on a background of classic computing system licences designated for company management. Findings: A present state of SaaS software development produced for manufacturing and enterprise resource planning as well as expected development directions of this technology in systems prepared for SME sector were introduced in this paper. Research limitations/implications: Further researches should be concentrated on particularizing specificity of requirements of production companies which want to change to outsourcing in systems working with SaaS mode. Practical implications: The paper presents a set of parameters which should be considered during a process of choosing one of ERP/MRP computing rank systems in SaaS technology for manufacturing company service. Originality/value: The paper might be useful for person dealing with modern technologies in ERP/MRP rank systems.

Content available remote Integrated recycling technology as a candidate for best available techniques
EN
Purpose: In this article the integrated recycling technology and the integrated recycling technology model as a future candidate for best available techniques (BAT) are presented. Design/methodology/approach: The paper shows one of the procedures for selection a determinant of emission standards - BAT, which are a basis of BAT reference documents (BREFs). Findings: The works relating to the emission standards stating according to best available techniques should have more and more meaning for all Member States and for Poland also. One of these activities is search of the best integrated recycling technology which allows to neutralize the definite part of waste in the most effective and simplest way. Research limitations/implications: To protect the environment it is necessary a continuous adjusting to BAT requirements. It is always possible to find the better, effective or cheaper methods of the environment protection (e.g. the integrated recycling technology model proposed). Practical implications: The implementation of the IPPC Directive requirements makes possible the technological processes realization with full protect of the environment. It refers to the recycling technologies too. Therefore, it is necessary to find the best integrated recycling technology which guarantees total waste reduction. Originality/value: In this paper paid attention to the problem of the integrated recycling technologies. The proposed integrated recycling technology model is not only ecologically and technically practicable but also generates small costs.

Content available remote Modelling methodology for development of Virtual Organisation's supporting systems
EN
Purpose: of this paper is to introduce modelling methodology that would be usable for building of virtual organisations. Nowadays this concept is widely accepted both in academic and industry community. However, slow implementation in practise causes inability to reach expected advantages. One of the main reasons is the lack of such systems that would support cooperation and integration in accordance with principles of virtual organisation. Design/methodology/approach: Modelling as a research and development method is requirement to creation of adequate supporting systems. Rationale reference models will contribute to mistakes elimination, reduction of implementation time and total costs decreasing during whole lifecycle of the integrated systems. This approach requires unified modelling methodology. Findings: This Frame system is describe in the paper for virtual organisation modelling VO-PLM (Virtual Organisation supported by Product Lifecycle Management). This system describes theoretical starting points, way to formalization, structure, content and terminology of future models. Methodology is based on unified modelling language UML concerning principles of system decomposition, object-oriented modelling and required expandability. Research limitations/implications: There is important to note, that UML as a language provides set of symbols and rules for their notation, but not uniquely determined methods. Consequently, in next solution there is necessary to pay attention to this question. GRAPPLE (Guidelines for Rapid APPLication Engineering) could be used as a source complex methodology. The Frame system VO-PLM will unify modelling methodology which is necessary for research continuity, design, development and implementation of supporting software systems. Originality/value: Paper refers to results of integrated applied research at the Department of Manufacturing Systems STU in Bratislava. Authors have analysed actual outcomes of the important European projects in the field of virtual organisation modelling and business modelling.

Content available remote Design approach in management toward to business excellence
EN
Purpose: The main aim of this paper is to elaborate using design approach to building Integrated Management Systems (IMS) of organization to trace their own and dependable way to business excellence. Design/methodology/approach: The basic theories used to achieve the aim are: system engineering and architecting, system integration by managing of the interactions among its elements and the social model of management. The theoretical scope of this paper is to find appropriate model of integration based on main principles of mentioned modern management disciplines. Findings: At the beginning of design process of IMS lays Quality Management System (QMS) structured in accordance with ISO 9000 which allows organizations to use recognizable management practice and select properly quality tools for improvement of their core business processes. Research limitations/implications: There are different ways and concepts of integration on the road to business excellence. Design approach enables organizations to find their own road to improvement of business performances by selecting properly tools and methods. Practical implications: As outcome, the authors recommend the graphical presented concept to organizations that have the ambition to join the path of business excellence. Originality/value: Results of this paper are intended for designers of management systems. Presented model sets framework of methodology for design process of IMS which is mainly new for managers.
