W pracy omówiono wybrane problemy diagnostyki technicznej i monitorowania stanu systemów mechatronicznych w ujęciu inżynierii diagnostyki. Przedstawiona problematyka znajduje swoje uzasadnienie w procesach destrukcji maszyn, towarzyszących każdej maszynie tuż po jej wytworzeniu, aż do likwidacji. Daje to podstawy do racjonalnej eksploatacji maszyn w nowo tworzonych diagnostycznych systemach eksploatacji.

W pracy przedstawiono wybrane problemy z obszaru doskonalenia problematyki diagnozowania maszyn, na tle nowych zagadnień metodologii diagnostyki. Wskazano na inżynierię diagnostyki, technologie obiektowe, niezawodność symptomową i przykładowe wykorzystanie metod komputerowych w diagnostyce maszyn.
