Kinetic measurements of the process of sodium nitrite inversion were carried out. The effect of the temperature in the range 323 - 363K, HNO3 concentration in the range 6.3 - 220 g/dmexp.3, type of the barboting agent (air, nitrogen, oxygen) and its flow rate (wo = 7.4-104 and 7.4-10exp.3 m/s) on the total inversion rate was tested. On the basis of the results obtained from the investigation, the optimal conditions of the process performing were established. In these conditions practically full NaNO2 conversion can be acquired (final concentration < 0.02 g/dmexp.3), which guarantees high purity of NaNO3.
