Purpose: The subject of the research were the logos of individual facilities of rural tourism in Poland found on the websites of these facilities. Design/methodology/approach: The research covered 243 websites hosted on paid domains. A semantic, formal and aesthetic analysis of graphic signs was conducted. The research was conducted by way of exploratory method. Logos were found on 202 websites. 41 facilities did not use a graphic sign. In 112 cases the logo was composed of a symbol and logotype. Findings: In 147 cases the logos had a traditional form (traditional, neutral, rustic) or used elements associated with rural areas. In 49 cases, the logos were assessed as modern. Originality/value: What was noted was the fact that in hyper-text documents, logos perform numerous functions. Apart from making the navigation easier, they can also have a dynamic, multimedia form. On the basis of analysis of graphic signs, two main types of rural tourism facilities were distinguished: “traditional” and “commercialized” ones.

The article addresses the issue of managing the image of a physical recreation instructor. It is necessary to undertake an analysis of the subject matter due to the dynamic development of physical recreation services, and significant competition in the provision of them. The article starts with discussing the concept of sport and its relation to the concept of physical recreation. Then, one of the forms of physical activity, namely hatha yoga, is discussed. Subsequently, the entities authorized to conduct physical recreation classes are presented, with particular focus on the physical recreation instructor, including the qualification requirements placed upon them, the tasks assigned, and the effects of their services. The article also discusses the results of surveys concerning the expectations of class participants towards instructors in terms of their professional qualifications, competencies and predispositions. Based on the survey results and the positions adopted in the literature, the methods for managing the image of a physical recreation instructor, including the legal risks of the instructor, are also presented. The article also draws attention to the possibility of adopting the academic yoga model in image management while discussing the assumptions and benefits accompanying this model.

The purpose of this article is to present image management and unattended systems in research and teaching laboratories. Both types of laboratories are specific from the point of view of IT personnel. In this work environment, unlike computers used for example in offices, frequent and advanced changes in configurations and settings are necessary. Maintaining such machines is a challenge for IT staff due to time-consuming processes and downtime in laboratories. The system proposed within the framework of this study is aimed at shortening and simplifying the service of laboratories. It help in increase of usage time of laboratories by reducing the downtimes necessary to maintain the IT infrastructure.

In the market economy, the company image is of particular importance. It can be shaped intentionally through marketing activities. This paper presents an example of a big hotel and catering company, which competently makes practical use of company image management. The management board of the company regularly conducts questionnaire surveys among the guests of the hotel and uses the results of these surveys for purposes of company image management. Image management brings measurable effects because it strengthens competitiveness of the company.
