This paper describes the design and operation principle of a planetary cycloidal transmission with a hypocycloidal gearing. The outline of the hypocycloidal teeth is described by parametric equations. Therefore, the geometric features of this gearing and the influence of the parameters forming the outline of the gearing while maintaining the compactness of its design have been described. One way to verify the designed hypocycloidal gearing is to determine the forces and thrust between the teeth, which has been carried out. Influence of the parameters describing the teeth of the hypocycloid on the forces and intertooth thrust has been presented.
