Hydrogeological documetation in the terms of deposit exploitation, water injection to the rock formations, drainage, and other mining activity requires the characteristic of groundwater conditions, mainly in the field of groundwater hazards. Hydrogeological documentations are the basis for granting or renewing a concession. The necessity of a general description in hydrogeological documentation as a result of legal regulations is justified and understood, although broader and non-standard scope should be revised, connected with: development of research methods in hydrogeology, scope of their applicability, modern research methodology for measurement and evaluation of hydrogeological parameters, new mining techniques. Commonly realized documents include, among other things, characteristics of hydrogeological conditions, in particular the extent of geological structure planned for water injection, depth, thickness and capacity of reservoirs, hydrogeological parameters, groundwater flow directions, isolation conditions and hydrogeological parameters of rock formations directly above reservoirs. Based on the documented work, the paper describes the problem of presenting the most important hydrogeological aspects that determine the possibility of water injection into the rock formations, the scope of hydrogeological investigations and justification of the observation and measurement conducted for the assessment of environmental hazards caused by water injection.

In 2013–2018, it is intended to implement a program to document available groundwater resources in the up-to-now undocumented 40 balance areas. The work will be carried out in two tranches and four stages; in each of these stages, 8–13 documentations will be made. A tranche is composed of two modes of work: short mode – preparation of hydrogeological documentations, and full mode – implementation of the program and preparation of hydrogeological documentations. The currently ongoing work, to document available groundwater resources, includes preparation of 19 documentations (9 documentations in the first stage, and 10 in the second stage). The Polish Geological Institute is the main executor and coordinator of this task.

Coraz częściej docierają do nas różne informacje związane z tematyką stref ochronnych ujęć wód podziemnych. W dużej mierze wynika to z faktu wygaszenia na podstawie art. 21 ust. 1 ustawy z dnia 5 stycznia 2011 r. o zmianie ustawy - Prawo wodne oraz niektórych innych ustaw (Dz.U. Nr 32, poz. 159) z dniem 31 grudnia 2012 r. decyzji ustanawiających strefy, wydanych przed 1 stycznia 2002 r. W związku z przywołaną powyżej regulacją prawną, szereg podmiotów eksploatujących wody podziemne stanęło przed koniecznością sporządzenia wniosku o ponowne ustanowienie strefy ochronnej. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przybliżenie tematyki związanej z procedurą ustanawiania strefy ochrony pośredniej dla ujęć wód podziemnych, popartej własnymi doświadczeniami w tym zakresie.

Aktualnie prowadzone prace związane z poszukiwaniem, rozpoznawaniem a w przyszłości również możliwą eksploatacją niekonwencjonalnych złóż węglowodorów oraz wiążącym się z tą działalnością zapotrzebowaniem na znaczne ilości wód, w tym również wód podziemnych, wymusiły przyspieszenie prac związanych z udokumentowaniem zasobów wód podziemnych w obszarach dotychczas nieudokumentowanych. W artykule przedstawiono aktualny stan udokumentowania zasobów dyspozycyjnych wód podziemnych oraz plan 6-letniego przedsięwzięcia, mającego na celu udokumentowanie zasobów dyspozycyjnych wód podziemnych na obszarach dotychczas nieudokumentowanych.

The currently ongoing works to locate, identify and possibly future exploit the unconventional hydrocarbons as well as the coupled with this activity large water demand including groundwater, forced the intensification of works to document the groundwater resources in the areas which has not been documented yet. The paper shows the present state of the groundwater resources documentation process as well as presents the initiation of the 6 year program to document these resources in the not-till-now documented areas.
