Purpose: The subject of the publication is a philosophical reflection on the idea that organizes the space of human and citizen life, of which we are contemporary beneficiaries. This idea today inspires the search for the subjective status of man, shapes the axiological system of societies, defines the duties of the human person, sets legal standards. Methodology: The publication is theoretical in nature. The analysis of the literature on the subject constituted the method of working on the publication. This method made it possible to learn about the current state of knowledge in the subject under discussion, indicated the scope of consideration of the problem, and also determined the perspective of further issues and questions that require answers. Findings: The publication discusses the values on which the idea of human rights is based, the assumption being that a person who transcends the characteristics of the zoological species participates in the moral and rational sphere, the sphere of unconditional moral imperatives that cannot be empirically determined. Social consequences: The perspective adopted in the publication discussing the idea of human rights is, first of all, important criteria and categories for the construction of the normative order, it projects the formation of social ties and the evolution of values that consolidate society. The idea of human rights in this sense is a regulator of collective life that creates social order. Originality: The publication asks what are the sources of the idea of human rights, whether the rooting of man in intellectual loyalty to reason is a sufficient motive to safeguard against the desire to invalidate them, whether man as a moral being is immune to the action of the instincts of his own nature.

Purpose: The paper presents a fundamental issue for contemporary democracy concerning two basic concepts shaping civic awareness. Methodology: The main method is the analysis of the subject literature. Findings: The paper discusses the fundamental values that directly determine a person's status as an individual and a citizen in the state. Social implications: Reflections on the content of human rights and civil society are essential for the development of a model of citizen-state relations. Originality/value: The paper indicates the existence of a moral aspect in the relationship between the citizen and the state and its importance for building individual subjectivity and civic awareness.

W artykule podjęto próbę zdefiniowania i umieszczenia modułu uczuciowego w typologii jakości życia. W części wstępnej pracy określono uniwersalną istotę pojęcia „jakość życia”, a następnie wyróżniono dwie grupy kryteriów i klasyfikacji tego pojęcia, z wyeksponowaną i utajoną aksjologią, czyli sferą odczuciową (emocjonalną i uczuciową). Umożliwiło to ukazanie tak charakterystycznego dla obecnej cywilizacji zjawiska „gubienia” modułu uczuciowego (jako części sfery odczuciowej) w wizji człowieka „sztucznego” (egocentryka), a jednocześnie możliwość odnalezienie tego modułu w wizji człowieka „rzeczywistego” (z ujawnionym człowieczeństwem). Te skuteczne poszukiwania modułu uczuciowego nie byłyby możliwe bez jasnego odróżnienia dwóch fundamentalnych pojęć „odczuciowych” – uczuć i emocji. Dokonane w tym artykule trzy powiązane ze sobą próby rozpoznania modułu uczuciowego jakości życia mogą, lecz nie muszą, zapoczątkować w czasopiśmie „Problemy Jakości” cykl prac poświęconych najważniejszym składowym tego modułu.

The article attempts to define and place the feelings module in the typology of quality of life (QoL). In the introductory part of the work, the universal essence of the concept of “quality of life” was defined, and then two groups of criteria and classification of QoL were distinguished – with exposed and latent axiology. This made it possible to show the kind of “losing” the feelings module of the vision of an “artificial” man (egocentric), so characteristic of the current civilization, and at the same time the possibility of finding this module of the vision of a “real” man (with revealed humanity). This search and finding of the feelings module would not be possible without a clear distinction between two fundamental concepts: feelings and emotions. The recognition of QoL feelings module made in this article may, but does not have to, initiate a series of works devoted to the most important components of this module in the journal “Problems of Quality”.

Twórczość Kołakowskiego to przede wszystkim poszukiwanie sposobu, w jaki człowiek staje się człowiekiem. Dwa najważniejsze wymiary pozwalające na odnalezienie istoty problemu to rozum i transcendencja. Oscylowanie między tymi poziomami czy warstwami ujawnia nie tylko drogę do moralności, jako formalnego zespołu norm i praw, ale także drogę do człowieczeństwa istoty ludzkiej jako wartości abstrakcyjnej.

Leszek Kolakowski's work is revealed primarily through his interest in man, both in the social dimension and in the individual dimension. The contemporary man is a complex entity for Kolakowski, both in historical and existential sense. In the historical perspective, he witnessed the experience of banality and oppression, in the existential perspective, the indispensable tension between biology and intellect. This, according to Kołakowski, is the source of permanent human crisis as a human being.

Etyka działalności gospodarczej tworzona i uprawiana jest na wiele sposobów. Trwają spory o jej cele, założenia i metody. Pomimo rozlicznych rozbieżności, rysuje się główny kierunek całościowo prowadzonych rozważań nad biznesem oraz nad samą etyką ogólną. Wskazuje się na potrzebę silniejszego zaakcentowania obowiązywalności norm moralnych jako reguł skutecznie chroniących bezpieczeństwo gromadnego życia. Podkreśla się, że normy etyczne (wraz z zasadami o charakterze prakseologicznym, sprawnościowym oraz ekonomicznym) w większym stopniu powinny wyznaczać sposoby prowadzenia działalności gospodarczej i określać podmiotowy oraz przedmiotowy zakres odpowiedzialności firmy. Etyka życia gospodarczego nawiązuje do tradycji filozofii moralnej. Domaga się wprowadzenia moralnego ładu w biznesie i dopomina się o jego uprawomocnienie.

Ethics in business activity is created in numerous ways. There are plenty of disputes about its objectives, assumptions and methods. Despite the many differences, one can notice the main direction of the whole discussion on business ethics and ethics itself. It is pointed out that there is a need for stronger emphasis on moral norms as rules that effectively protect the safety of collective life. It is stressed that ethical standards (including the rules of praxeological, efficiency and economic nature) to a greater extent should determine ways of doing business and identify the personal and material scope of responsibility of the company. Ethics of economic life corresponds to the tradition of moral philosophy. It also calls for moral governance in business and claims its implementation.

"Sercem" Krakowa dla krakowian zawsze był Wawel jako miejsce dominujące, na wzgórzu, święte, symboliczne i bezpieczne. Dziś częściej myślimy o Rynku Głównym jako o centrum wspólnotowym. Gdziekolwiek jednak to miejsce by przenosić, zgodnie z przemianą dziejową, nie struktura urbanistyczna czy sama architektura jako dzieło twórczego architekta będą decydować o tym, gdzie płonie zarzewie ruchu poruszającego organizm miejski. Do ożywienia miasta niezbędny jest sam człowiek z gorącym bijącym sercem i odkrywczym intelektem. Sam zabytek bez żywego odbiorcy również nie przemówi. Dobrej architekturze pozostaje rola tła i opiekuna dla równoczesności wydarzeń, a gradacja ich ważności również należy do człowieka.

"The heart of the city" for the inhabitants of Kraków has always been Wawel as a dominant, sacred, symbolic and secure place situated on top of a hill. Today we often think of the Main Market Square as the communal center of the city. Yet, wherever we decide to move this place, in accordance with the historic change, it is not the urban structure or the architecture itself, as the work of a creative architect that will decide about where the embers of the movement that set in motion the urban organism are burning. The monument itself, without a living recipient will not speak out either. Good architecture plays the role of the background and guardian for the simultaneousness of events while the gradation of their importance also depends on man.
