Preliminary results are presented of the studies on the homogenous combustion of lean methane-air mixtures. Gas temperature profiles are determined, together with methane and CO2 concentrations along the reactor for the various initial CH4 levels and feed flow rates. It is found that the combustion of methane is initiated at temperatures as low as 850-950oC, and the conversion reaches 90-98%.
