Rosnąca świadomość zmian wynikłych z przełomu kulturowego, którego jesteśmy uczestnikami, powoduje zmiany teorii konserwacji zarówno w stosunku do sztuki dawnej, jak i w zachowaniu sztuki XX/XXI wieku. Obecnie dziedzictwo kultury funkcjonuje dychotomicznie – zarówno w tradycyjnych materialnych formach (tangible), jak i niematerialnych (intangible). Wobec Stulecia Awangardy nowa sztuka wymaga nowego typu ochrony i konserwacji, nie mieści się w systemie dyscyplin plastycznych, bywa ich syntezą lub hybrydą, lub przedstawia nieobjęte dotąd teorią formy całkowicie nowatorskie, kinetyczne, sztukę opartą na czasie (time-based media), sztukę w miejscach publicznych, jak murale, instalacje przestrzenne, wreszcie architekturę i sztukę ulicy (street art) zżyte ze społecznością lokalną. Dla zapobieżenia ryzyku utraty cenionego dziedzictwa autorka proponuje rozszerzenie ram ochrony i konserwacji w oparciu o kompleksowy kontekst wartościowania dziedzictwa, nową terminologię dla nowych strategii zachowania, stosowanie nowych kluczy w opisach i warunków dla identyfikacji obiektów, ich rearanżacji w przestrzeni. Całościowa perspektywa dziedzictwa materialnego, niematerialnego i cyfrowego (digital born) może stanowić wyraz zbiorowej mądrości i zdolności do wykorzystania wiedzy w holistyczny sposób, bez jej redukowania na składniki. Odpowiada na wyzwania zmian cywilizacyjnych, potrzebę tożsamości i budowania refleksyjnego społeczeństwa, w tym edukacji młodych pokoleń.

The growing awareness of changes resulting from the cultural breakthrough, in which we participate, causes changes in the theory of conservation both in relation to the old art and in preserving the art of the 20th/21st century. Nowadays the cultural heritage functions as a dichotomy – both in traditional tangible forms and the intangible ones. In view of the Century of the Avant-garde the new art requires a new type of protection and conservation, it does not fit into the system of graphic disciplines, as it can be their synthesis or a hybrid, or presents entirely innovative, kinetic forms so far not included in the theory, time based media, art in public places such as murals, spatial installations, and finally architecture and street art familiar to the local community. To avoid the risk of losing precious heritage the author suggests expanding the range of protection and conservation on the basis of the complex context of heritage evaluation, new terminology for new strategies of preservation, applying new keys in descriptions and conditions for object identification, and their re-arrangement in space. The overall perspective of the tangible, intangible and digital-born heritage can be an expression of collective wisdom and ability to use knowledge in the holistic way, without reducing it to its components. It meets the challenges of civilisation transformations, the need for identity and building a reflexive society, including education of the younger generations.

Ograniczenie liczby utonięć uzależnione jest także w oczywisty sposób od jakości funkcjonowania służb ratowniczych. Zapewnić ten poziom ma zarówno przygotowanie ratowników do udzielania pomocy osobom tonącym, czyli edukacja ratownicza, jak i funkcjonowanie systemu bezpieczeństwa nad wodą. Oba te nurty wzajemnie się uzupełniają i ściśle od siebie zależą. Ratownik powinien być wielostronnie przygotowany do ratowania tonących zarówno w wymiarze sprawności ratowniczej i medycznej, jak i psychicznej, pedagogicznej, etycznej, a także aksjologicznej. Funkcjonowanie systemu bezpieczeństwa nad wodą stanowi domenę badań logistyki, zarządzania i polityki. Działania logistyczne w ratownictwie wodnym gwarantują sprawne funkcjonowanie tej służby i zintegrowanie z innymi podmiotami systemu. W niniejszym opracowaniu podjęto próbę poszukiwania związku i relacji między humanistycznym spojrzeniem na ratowanie tonących, a spojrzeniem logistycznym rozumianym jako organizacja systemu ratownictwa wodnego w Polsce.

The decrease in the number of drownings is directly related to the quality and efficacy of functioning of water rescue personnel. This high level of functioning can only be ensured by proper rescue services provided to drowning victims, or life rescue education, and safety precautions and systems near water. Both the immediate and precautionary measures are strictly related and necessary for proper functioning of water rescue. A lifeguard or water rescue personnel worker must be prepared to help drowning victims in rescue and medical needs, as well as be able to provide psychological, educational, ethical and axiological aid when necessary. The proper functioning of water rescue and safety systems falls under the domain of logistic, management and political authorities. A logistical approach to water rescue guarantees efficient functioning and integrated services. This article attempts to correlate a humanistic approach or water rescue with the logistics, here understood as methodology and practices of water rescue in Poland.

Machine tool development from high level of holistic improvement to intelligence

Purpose: The aim of the paper is to identify the research efforts of the coming machine tool improvements towards the intelligent level of development. Design/methodology/approach: An approach to the machine intelligence will be based on a holistic modelling of machine tool system components and a process generating tool path, digitalization, virtualization and improvement for adaptive control of machine tool and process behaviour in real time. Findings: Intelligent procedures for machine and process efficiency control based on real time machine and process monitoring, on-line tool path generation, optimization and adaptive control. Research limitations/implications: A real time reachability for the high speed cutting and achievable computing power for the real time simulation of the tool path generation process. Practical implications: High efficient manufacturing. Originality/value: A unique presentation of the state of the art in knowledge oriented on concepts of intelligent machine tools generation as the coming level of development.

Holistyczne podejście do rewitalizacji (po)górniczych regionów i rejonów

W artykule wskazano na konieczność holistycznego podejścia do rewitalizacji rejonów i regionów (po)górniczych wynikającą z potrzeby harmonizowania funkcji, jak również właściwego funkcjonowania zrewitalizowanych obiektów w przyszłości. Na przykładach zarówno z kraju, jak i Europy pokazano występujące tendencje. Istniejące metody, jak również przykłady zrealizowanych przedsięwzięć rewitalizacyjnych w europejskich regionach, mogą być pomocne w realizacji tych złożonych procesów w Polsce. Rozpoczęte działania w kierunku spójnego zagospodarowania zespołu zbiorników wodnych w subregionie tarnowskim są innowacją w skali Polski.

This paper presents a necessity for the holistic approach to the revitalisation of (post)mining regions and districts resulting from the need to harmonize the functions as well as the proper functioning of the regenerated objects in the future. The current trends are shown on the examples from both Poland and Europe. The existing methods as well as examples of completed revitalisation projects conducted in the European regions can be helpful in the implementation of such complex processes in Poland. The activities commenced towards the coherent development of reservoirs’ complex in Tarnów sub-region can be treated as an innovation on the national scale.
