The article presents a complex planning proposal for the formation of a multi-functional pedestrian space system in the structure of historically formed urban block development in the city center of Lviv. In this proposal, inner-bloc territories are considered as a spatial reserve for the development of the public space in the historic city center. Particular emphasis is given to the need for the network of historical passages as a traditional form of public space of the historical core of Lviv restoration.

W artykule przedstawiono kompleksową propozycję zagospodarowania wielofunkcyjnego systemu ruchu pieszego strukturze historycznie ukształtowanej dzielnicy w śródmieściu Lwowa. W tej propozycji wewnętrznie kwartalne tereny są uważane za rezerwę przestrzenną dla rozwoju przestrzeni publicznej historycznego centrum miasta. Szczególny nacisk kładzie się na potrzebę przywrócenia stref pieszych historycznych pasażów jako tradycyjnej formy przestrzeni publicznej historycznego rdzenia Lwowa.

This article analyzes the integrity, condition, the use and structure of city blocks in the central parts of small towns in Western Ukraine using the example of Rohatyn, Komarno and Pidhaitsi. Factors that negatively affect the preserving city blocks and its residential buildings are identified and the detailed principles of regeneration of historically formed structure of residential city blocks and its parcels are provided.

W artykule przeanalizowano stan istniejących bloków i dzielnic mieszkaniowych historycznej zabudowy zlokalizowanej w centralnej części małych miast. Rozpatrzono miasta z regionu zachodniej Ukrainy, przeanalizowano szczegółowo bloki w Rohatynie, Komarno i Podhajcach. W wyniku badań terenowych określono czynniki, które negatywnie wpływają na zachowanie tradycyjnej struktury dzielnic oraz obniżają wartościowe walory historycznej zabudowy. Zarekomendowano zachowanie funkcji mieszkaniowej jako elementu tradycyjnego dla centrum małego miasta, a także określono szczegółowe planistyczne i kompozycyjne zasady przekształcenia istniejących zabudowań i odbudowy niezachowanych budynków oraz odtworzenie historycznej struktury bloków.

This paper presents the problem concerning preservation of urban heritage by developing the concept of regeneration of historic environment and implementation of specific programmes concerning its protection and preservation. Proposed programmes, concerning protection and preservation of historic potential of the described towns will enhance the value of urban heritage, will create an opportunity to inform the public about historic aspects of the urban development, and reduce the possibility of their mistreating – and inapt attitudes towards historic sites.

W artykule przedstawiono sposób ochrony historycznych układów miejskich poprzez opracowanie urbanistycznych koncepcji ich rewaloryzacji w oparciu o badania archiwalne i studia terenowe. Sporządzanie konkretnych programów konserwatorskich sprzyja zachowaniu i podkreśleniu architektoniczno-urbanistycznych wartości dziedzictwa historycznego. Pozwoli to na uświadomienie społeczeństwu historycznego znaczenia tego dziedzictwa, co doprowadzić może do jego społecznej akceptacji i zapobieżeniu dalszej destrukcji.

This paper sets out the objectives of Geothermal Communities project for the demo-site of Montieri (Italy). The realisation of the geothermal district-heating network is combined with energy efficiency measures on buildings and the integration of other renewable energy sources within the historic town. Specificity and innovation of geothermal energy use in Montieri are outlined together with the designed retrofit interventions. The adoption of an integrated approach that combines the use of different resources and measures demonstrates to be a priority to preserve the geothermal resource for future generations.

W ramach projektu Społeczności Geotermalne (GEOCOM) we włoskim mieście Montieri realizowany jest innowacyjny system geotermalnej sieci ciepłowniczej wraz z integracją z innymi OZE połączony z modernizacją budynków przy równoczesnym zachowaniu średniowiecznej struktury miasta. Takie innowacyjne połączenie w systemie ciepłowniczym różnych OZE, wykorzystanie ich zasobów, ma na celu przede wszystkim ochronę zasobów geotermalnych dla przyszłych pokoleń.

W artykule przedstawiono funkcjonowanie systemu parkingów podziemnych w obrębie historycznego centrum Florencji, zwrócono też uwagę na jego rozkład przestrzenny, pojemność i wpływ na politykę parkingową miasta. Odwołując się do doświadczeń włoskich, rozważono możliwość wprowadzenia takiego systemu na podstawie proponowanych przez służby Prezydenta Miasta Krakowa lokalizacji parkingów podziemnych w centrum Krakowa. Jest to równocześnie próba znalezienia odpowiedzi na pytanie o celowość budowy tego typu inwestycji w obszarach śródmiejskich dużych miast wobec stale rosnącego wskaźnika motoryzacji.

The functioning of the underground parking system in Florencja historical core has been presented in the paper. It stresses the system's spatial disposition, captivity and influence on city parking policy as well. In relation to the Italian experiences the paper discusses the possibility of introduction of this system in Kraków, specially the localizations of the underground parkings in the Kraków city center, proposed recently by the Kraków Major's services. Simultaneously it is the attempt to find a satisfactory answer to the questions about the purpose such investments in the metropolitan cores, in view of the constantly growing motorization indicator.
