The article presents W. Nalkowski's (1851-1911) views on the climate of the Polish territories, expressed by this outstanding geographer in his book published in 1913. He viewed climate as the other features of the geographical environment are of the "transitional" character. Various aspects of this feature are presented. A thesis has been stated in the article, that "transitionally" is still concerned as an important feature of climate in Poland though the meaning of this term is not consequently used. It has been also pointed that some of the reasons to classify climate of Poland as "transitory" have became no topical.
