The present paper deals with the examination and research to the vestiges of an ancient church discovered in the basement of the Algemesí Communion Chapel, dating back to the beginnings of Christianity in the city. Considering the disposition of the constructive elements and the documented historical facts that date back to the first parish in the 13th century, it was deduced that the remains found were part of a temple with diaphragmatic arches and a woody roof. These facts are the paradigm of the ecclesiastical architecture that prevailed, by its execution speed, in the kingdom of Valencia after Jaime I reconquest. The study includes the comparison with other buildings of the same nature that allowed reconstructing its hypothetical volume, as well as the analysis of the techniques and materials that shaped its structure. Its identification ascribes another example to the Valencian protogothic architecture.

W artykule przedstawiono historię budowy i eksploatacji mostu Cłowego w Szczecinie. W ciągu 56 lat eksploatacji obiektu wykonano wiele ekspertyz, napraw i remontów. Ostatecznie most został zamknięty z powodu awarii stalowych kabli sprężenia zewnętrznego. Przedstawiono główne przyczyny degradacji obiektu i awarii. Opisano również obliczenia statyczne i wytrzymałościowe wykonane do koncepcji rozbiórki przęseł mostu.

This paper presents history of constructing and lifecycle of post-tensioned Clowy Bridge in Szczecin. Several expert works and repairs were performed during 56 years of service. Finally bridge was closed after serious structural failure of external prestressing cable. Main reasons of degradation are explained and concept of design of dismantling is presented.

Historia stalowego mostu drogowego Pulaski Skyway jest szczególnie ciekawa, gdyż w momencie powstania (1932 r.) był on najdłuższym amerykańskim obiektem na świecie. Budowla w New Jersey przecina dwie rzeki i ma długość całkowitą ponad 5 km. Most był opisywany w książkach i znalazł się w kadrach sławnych filmów. Współczesna modernizacja konstrukcji polega między innymi na spektakularnym zastosowaniu lekkiej płyty pomostowej, z wykorzystaniem kompozytu cementowego, betonu UHPC Ductal.

The General Pulaski Skyway road steel bridge was constructed as the longest American bridge in 1932. Its history is interesting particularly in this aspect. The bridge structure crosses two rivers in New Jersey on the distance of over 5 km. Pulaski Skyway was described in many books and shown in famous films. The spectacular new light deck with the Ductal UHPC composite cement material has been applied for this old bridge during its rehabilitation.
