Juliusz Świecianowski (1834-1900) was a member of the Academia di San Luca, Academia di Belle Arti in Bologna and the Congregazione dei Virtuosi al Pantheon in Rome (today Pontificia Insigne Accademia di Belle Arti e Lettere). He was an architect by education but, above all, a theoretician and inventor. He published his universalistic aesthetic theories alluding to occultism and Kabbalah in many languages. At the same time, he described and patented practical technical devices - faecal dryers, crematoria, and disinfection furnaces - whose task was to free the world from harmful miasms. He was remembered as an eccentric and visionary, believing that the essence of the world’s beauty lies in harmony resulting from the combining of all aspects of nature and human creation and that the salvation for this beauty is the development of the art of hygiene, which will free the world from the harmful fumes of civilization.

The article covers issues relating to the19th-century buildings which accompanied the park complex, called the gardener's house. They presented the most important contemporary trends in the formation of residential-park complexes, as well as examples of preserved objects in the former rejencja opolska. It also presents the form, present values, and opportunities for adapting them.

Artykuł dotyczy problematyki XIX-wiecznych domów ogrodnika, towarzyszących układom parkowym. Zaprezentowano w nim zarówno najważniejsze nurty w kształtowaniu układów rezydencjonalno-parkowych, jak i przykłady zachowanych obiektów z obszaru dawnej rejencji opolskiej. Określono ich formę, współczesne wartości oraz możliwości adaptacji.

This article is devoted to the topic of garden houses, characteristic of buildings in garden architecture in many epochs. In the 19th century, owing to the creator of German culture, they assumed a characteristic form, becoming part of the design trends of that time. The main considerations will include their characteristics, the importance and value in creating 19th -century cultural landscapes against the conditions connected with the gardener's occupation.

W niniejszym artykule podjęta została tematyka domów ogrodnika, charakterystycznych obiektów architektury ogrodowej w wielu epokach. W XIX wieku dzięki twórcom niemieckiego kręgu kulturowego przybrały one dość znamienną formę, wpisującą się w ówczesne nurty projektowe. Główne rozważania obejmować będą ich charakterystykę, znaczenie oraz wartości w kreowaniu XIX-wiecznych krajobrazów kulturowych na tle uwarunkowań związanych z zawodem ogrodnika.
