The last years of Poland’s independence were characterized by aboard of scope investments, especially in the area of the Central Industrial Region (abbreviated in Polish as COP), a majority of which were a part of the Six-Year Plan of modernization and development of the Polish Army. According to the investment plan twelve factories of direct arms industry were to built in the COP with a major factory of the Southern Works in Stalowa Wola. A register of the Polish military works in 1938 included 44 state factories and 204 private ones.
