Breast cancer is one of the most dangerous tumors for middle-aged and older woman, and mammography is its most reliable early detection method. In this paper, a fully automated method for detection of mass-like objects is proposed. The main stage of the algorithm is non-linear histogram conversion based on Rayleigh transformation. That approach gives us mammograms with significantly improved masses visibility and, thus, easier way to segment a potential mass object. Achieved results confirm the usefulness proposed method for application in mammography-oriented content-based image retrieval system and are comparable to to other state-of art methods.

Przedstawiono system pomiarowy do wyznaczania histogramów przewodności. Histogramy przewodności są wyznaczane w badaniach kwantowania przewodności w nanodrutach. Część mechaniczns opisanego systemu jest uąywana do formowania nanodrutów pomiedzy metalowymi elektrodami. Pozycjonowanie metalowych elektrod jest wykonane za pomocą przetwornika piezoelektrycznego. System pomiarowy umożliwia pomiar przewodności elektrycznej nanodrutów dla szerokiego zakresu predkości oddalania elektrod i różnicy potencjałów pomiędzy elektrodami. Przedstawiono także wpływ nieliniowości różniczkowej przetwornika a/c na wyznaczane histogramy. Aby wyniki pomiarów i wyznaczania histogramów były poprawne należy usunąć wpływ nieliniowości różniczkowej przetwornika a/c poprzez zastosowanie zaproponowanej procedury korekcyjnej.

The paper presents a measurements system for calculation of conductance histograms. Conductance histograms are made in the investigation of the quantization of conductance in nanowires. The machanical setup of the system is used for formatting nanowires between metallic electrodes. Finer adjustments of metallic electrodes are performed by applying a suitable voltage to the piesoelectric conductance of potential difference between electrodes. In is showed how differential nonlineary of analog-to-digital converters introduced significant error in the corresponding conductance histograms. It is described the way of compensation for defferential nonlinearity of the ADC.

W pracy zaprezentowano nową, globalną metodę specyfikacji histogramu obrazu monochromatycznego wykorzystującą własności macierzy współwystępowania. Opracowana metoda pozwala, w zależności od potrzeby, uwydatnić na obrazie większe szczegóły lub tekstury. Metoda może być również zastosowana do przekształcenia luminacji obrazów kolorowych.

Presented is a method of histogram specification employing the cocurrence matrix properties. Its application to monochrome image transformations is discussed. The method enables one to enhance either greater details or texture depending on the requirements. The method may be adapted also for colour images.
