Consistency in the petrophysical and elastic properties is very critical for the characterization in low to intermediate (tight) porosity sandstone reservoirs. In this case study, we have applied an iterative and integrated workflow that provided consistency between the petrophysical and elastic properties using rock physics modeling scheme for the quantitative characterization of the low to intermediate porosity reservoir of Cretaceous (Pab) sandstone reservoir of the mature field in middle Indus basin of Pakistan. Before petrophysics and rock physics modeling (RPM), the well logs data quality is assessed and conditioned. We employed an inclusion-based rock physics model to estimate elastic (P-wave, S-wave, and density) properties by accounting for the effect of mineralogy using pore geometry (pore aspect ratio) variation. The RPM provided consistent elastic and petrophysical properties when compared with measured logs and improved lithofacies understanding in the tight gas reservoir. Finally, modeled elastic properties and lithofacies are assessed and characterized in a rock physics template (RPT) using an effective medium theory. The successful application of the integrated workflow exterminated the well log interpretation uncertainty by providing a consistency between the petrophysics and RPM, which can be extended for improved reservoir characterization and prospect evaluation across other areas with similar geological trends and reservoir distribution.

The paper presents the modified method of the text lines separation in the handwritten manuscripts. Such an approach is required for the medieval text analysis, where multiple text lines overlap and are written at different angles. The proposed approach consists in dividing the bounding boxes into smaller components based on the points of the character curves intersection. The method considers the askew text lines, producing non-rectangular zones between the neighboring lines.

Content available Histograms of selected EEG maps sequences
EN
The aim of the study was analysis of histograms of selected sequences of EEG maps to assess variability of isopotential areas. In clinical practice this variability is evaluated using visual inspection that is subjective and may be difficult in revealing of subtle differences. Variability of isopotential areas is manifested by changes of isopotential areas as well as changes of their topolocalisation. The histograms of total map areas include the information concerning the ispotential area variability, while histogram analysis of particular areas of map may be useful for evaluation of variability of isopotential areas configuration. Basing on the examples containing the period before, during and after generalized seizure activity, the variability of constellations of isopotential areas in EEG maps and related to that diversity of their histogram types were presented. The work includes examples of series of EEG map histograms with their statistical analysis and the description of method used for the quantitative assessment of the histogram series variability for the maps sequences containing seizure activity.

Automating a process of diagnosis always comes down to developing algorithms used to analyze the object of such diagnosis and verify the occurrence of symptoms related to a given affliction. Usually the final stage is to make a diagnosis based on the detected symptoms. This last stage can be carried out through either expert systems or a more classic approach, that is with the application of minimal distance methods. In the case of gallbladder diagnostics, the most important examination still remains image ultrasound diagnostics. This paper discusses the algorithms of a computer analysis of static ultrasound gallbladder images and detecting symptoms of the most frequent illness of this organ.
