The article presents a method for the determination of tremor epicentre in a mine using several seismographs. Station equations for the S-P method have been transformed into the form required by a non-linear smoothing method. An error function of tremor location has been created as a sum of squares of measurement errors. The calculation of the minimum of the error function allows us to obtain coordinates of the epicentre of tremors. To find the minimum of the objective function (error function), genetic programming was used. Algorithms in genetic programming enable us to find the minimum or maximum of the global function of many variables in the case of occurrence of many local minima or maxima. An example (based on imaginary data) of applying genetic programming for the location of hypocentres of mining tremors is presented.
