Modelling the time that the system remains in a given state using classical distributions is not always possible. In many cases, empirical distributions are multimodal due to the influence of external, hidden factors and the selection of the best classical distributions may lead to erroneous results. In the article the method of diagnosis of influence of hidden factors into sojourn time of semi-Markov models was presented. In order to capture hidden factors, the authors proposed to model the distributions of the sojourn time with a mixture of distributions, which is a significant novelty in relation to the studies presented in the literature. Hidden factors directly affect the reliability of technical systems. Detecting the existence of these factors enables more accurate modeling of system readiness. Paying attention to irregularities caused by hidden factors makes it possible to reduce system maintenance costs. Such a system model providescomplete information and enables a reliable assessment of the system readiness and maintenance.

Artykuł zawiera opis metody identyfikowania „ukrytych fabryk" w oparciu o wskaźniki wydajności (klasycznych i stosowanych w metodzie Six Sigma). Ocena wydajności procesu dokonywana jest na podstawie liczby wad, co w praktyce umożliwia wykrycie funkcjonowania w przedsiębiorstwie produkcyjnym „ukrytych fabryk", które są procesami, działaniami oraz systemami naprawczymi błędów powstających na poszczególnych etapach produkcji. Rozbudowany wstęp teoretyczny wzbogacono o studium przypadku, w którym przedstawiono metodę identyfikacji zjawiska „ukrytych fabryk" na przykładzie procesu produkcji odlewu w Odlewni Żeliwa S.A. w Zawierciu.

The paper contains a description of the method of identifying the "hidden factory" based on performance indicators (classic and used in the Six Sigma). Performance process appraisal is carried out based on the number of defects, which in practice allows detection of "hidden factories" existing in the enterprise. „Hidden factories" arę processes, operations and systems enabling repair of errors that arise at various stages of production. Extensive theoretical introduction was enriched with a case study, which presents a method to identify the occurrence of "hidden factories" on the example of the manufacturing process of casting in Odlewnia Żeliwa S.A. in Zawiercie.

Assessing the voting power of a decision maker depends on the appropriate evaluation of all factors influencing such power. Models constructed with the use of a set of given factors are usually statistically significant, but at the same time the determination coefficient is very low. An econometric technique is proposed, which increases the determination coefficient of such a model and consequently improves the estimation of voting power using a power index. Such an approach enables us to investigate the nature of hidden factors by considering their effects and variation in the model. An example and algorithm for improving the econometric model are also presented.

Estymacja siły decydenta jest zależna od właściwej oceny wszystkich czynników na nią wpływających. Budowane zazwyczaj modele ekonometryczne są co prawda statystycznie istotne, jednak mają relatywnie niską determinację. W artykule zaproponowano ekonometryczną technikę modelowania, służącą do podniesienia wartości współczynnika determinacji i w konsekwencji prowadzącą do poprawy oceny siły decydenta. Takie podejście umożliwia także zbadanie charakterystyk różnych czynników ukrytych dzięki obserwacji ich oddziaływania na zmienność modelu. W pracy pokazano także przykład oraz algorytm takiego postępowania w podejściu do modelu ekonometrycznego.
