In the toroidal drive, a screw-shaped groove is cut into the globoid worm. There is contact with the rolling element in this groove. This helix can be described by parametric equations. When calculating the values of the first and second curvature of the curve, as well as the radius of curvature, we must calculate the individual derivations. A new, more effective way is to determine the values already mentioned by using NX software only. When using Siemens PLM NX software, it is not necessary to determine individual derivations and their values, although the NX software determines the radii of the first and second curvature, based on the defined helix curve.

W artykule zaprezentowano sposób kształtowania geometrii ustroju nośnego kładki dla pieszych inspirowanej obiektem „The Helix Bridge” w Singapurze. Przedstawione zestawy równań parametrycznych określają położenie dowolnego punktu konstrukcji względem przyjętego globalnego układu odniesienia. W rezultacie możliwa jest łatwa korekta podstawowych parametrów geometrycznych obiektu. Rozważania stanowią wstęp do analizy konstrukcji metodą elementów skończonych, a zawarte w nich sformułowania mogą być bezpośrednio wykorzystane przez projektantów.

The article presents the method of forming the geometry of footbridge structure inspired by “The Helix Bridge” in Singapore. Introduced parametric equations define the location of any point of construction in regard to the global reference frame. As a result, emendation of basic geometrical parameters of the object is easily available. Considerations are proem to FEM analysis of the construction. Presented formulation may be directly used in engineering practise.

W artykule przedstawiono nowe rozwiązanie konstrukcyjne głowicy wytłaczarskiej do wytwarzania rur z polietylenu. Cechą znamienną głowicy jest to, że część stożkowa rdzenia od strony dyszy oraz część stożkowa dyszy od strony rdzenia mają na swych powierzchniach zwoje rozmieszczone po linii śrubowej, które są przesunięte względem siebie. Tworzą one kanał, w którym tworzywo przepływające przez niego zostaje skręcone po linii śrubowej. Tak ukształtowana rura ma większą wytrzymałość mechaniczną.

A new design for extrusion head for manufacturing of polyethylene pipes was presented in this article. A significant feature of the head is a part of the conical core of the conical nozzle and the nozzle port of the core are on their surfaces spaced ribs in helical path, which are shifted relative to each other. They form a channel in which the flowing plastic is twisted in a helix. That shaped pipe has a higher mechanical strength.

Investigation of polarizing properties of DNA is chosen as one of primary importance due to mirror asymmetry of the shape of DNA. Preliminary theoretical calculation has shown that the form of DNA is optimum for radiation of a circular electromagnetic wave under the resonance condition (~10 nm). This conclusion has been proved for the metal DNA-like helices in a microwave range in accordance with the principle of scaling. In the given work it is experimentally confirmed the presence of the effect of polarization selectivity in double reflection of microwave waves from DNA-like helical elements depending on their sign (the right-handed and left-handed helices). It is shown that the circular polarization of waves plays an important role in case of interaction of microwaves reflected from the artificial DNA-like structures. Probably, the identical effect takes place in some processes that involve DNA in biological organisms' cells, but in the range of far ultraviolet radiation and the "soft" X-ray range. These results are also interesting in connection with an opportunity of creation of artificial 2D and 3D structures on the basis of branches of a molecule of DNA. Such structures can be into a basis of new type metamaterials.

W artykule przedstawiono problemy związane z dokładnością wyznaczenia helikoidalnej linii odniesienia w pomiarach odchyłek kształtu powierzchni obrotowych metodą bezodniesieniową. Przedstawiono program symulacyjny, który pozwala wyznaczyć charakter i wartości błędów metody.

Some issues connected with the computational accuracy of helical reference line applied in certain Form Measuring Machines for revolving surfaces examination are considered. Examples of results obtained with a developed dedicated software and synthesis of simulation research are also given.
